MESSAGE Pastor Craig Borchardt We Respond to God s Grace SONG OF THE DAY What A Friend We Have In Jesus (To the tune: The Rose ) 1) What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry ev'rything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit; Oh, what needless pain we bear All because we do not carry ev'rything to God in prayer! 2) Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our ev'ry weakness take it to the Lord in prayer. 3) Are we weak and heavyladen, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer. In His arms He'll take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (in unison) I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
