THE BREAD BASKET Morsels from Bread of Life Lutheran Church OCTOBER 2016 Bread of Life Lutheran Church 7510 36 th Avenue Hudsonville, MI 49426 (616)797-9930 Pastor Paul Krupinski Cell (616)635-0058 Email: bollc@breadoflifelc.org Web: www.breadoflifelc.org Search for us on Facebook www.facebook.com/ Breadoflife Pastor Paul Sunday Worship Schedule with Holy Communion We invite you to worship, grow & serve with us! I started this front page article last year mentioning that the Cubs would be playing in a wild card game against Pittsburgh and then who knows what well, they beat the Pirates, the Cardinals, but lost to the Mets and thus unable to go to the World Series. Well, here we are again, but this time no wild card game and home field advantage however, again, a lot stands in the way for them to finally make it to the Series we will see. Also, as of this time, the Tigers have an outside chance of getting to a wild card and game and then who knows. Whatever happens it has been a fun year and kept us baseball fans interested and entertained. Whew! Got that off my chest! It s fun being a baseball fan, but what is infinitely more fun is being a beloved child of God. More than anything in my life it has been the assurance of the gracious gift of God s love through Christ that I am who I am. Repeatedly God has restored the brokenness of my life and set me free again and again. I hold tight to what Jesus said, I have come to set you free, from our sins, shortcomings, mistakes and blunders. How blessed we are for having a great God like ours! I want to call your attention to four events of significance in October: On Saturday, October 8 th is our outing to the Post Family Farm for an evening consisting of a hayride, bonfire with smores and hot chocolate and of course, if you want, those donuts they make; On Sunday, October 9 th we ll clean up our flower bed and some other things following worship bring yard gloves and a smile on your face maybe, too, there will be something to eat for lunch for those who stay and help; On Wednesday, October 19 th we will ship out 100 quilts for ELCA World Missions; and Saturday, October 22 nd will be our annual 2 nd Best sale so be sure to bring your items to church that week. Around this time of year people may be searching for a church home be sure to tell friends, co-workers and neighbors what a joy it is to be a part of a family of God then, if they ask about it, say visit some Sunday, I ll save a place for you. Try it, it really won t hurt! October with its brilliant colors is a wonderful time of the year...the reds, yellows and oranges of the trees are just another gift from God. Let us be sure that we daily lift up prayers of thanks for all of God s blessings. Time to close...take care and may God continue to bless you and all of your loved ones. See you and some new friends you bring at worship. Love ya! Pastor Paul
