She was such a bright spot in the SVBC Youth group and she made us all a little better by being with us. One of the things I liked about Lisa was her kind and friendly ways with everyone, yet she made you feel like you were the one she had been especially waiting for when she greeted you. I can't ever remember a time she spoke an unkind word about anyone, and her
encouraging and positive spirit was contagious. She was an all-inclusive type of girl with a big heart. When she was battling cancer, she allowed several of us to come by to check on her, and we commented after leaving that, while we intended to raise her spirits, we came away feeling like she had ministered and encouraged US instead...so like Lisa! Laura, I know you will greatly miss your sweet sister, and I'm so sorry that she will not be there for you in the days ahead. LaVerne & Herb, Lisa was blessed to have a close relationship with you as parents and she loved you dearly. My thoughts and prayers have been with you, and may God's presence be felt in a fresh new way during this very difficult time. With love and sympathy, Pam Millsap Brown PAM MILLSAP BROWN, OCTOBER 20, 2016 I've just now heard about this so my apologies for not being at the memorial service. Laura and Mr. & Mrs. Smotherman (it would feel weird for me, even now, to call you by your first names), my sympathies & prayers go out to you during this hard time of loss. Even though Lisa is gone, you can be assured to know where she is and that we will all see her again someday. She is certainly not missing us, right now, while in the Lord's presence. Although a few years older than me, Lisa was always a sweetheart & befriended me growing up in SVBC's youth group. She was friendly, compassionate, & such a gracious young lady, in every way. It doesn't surprise me at all to read how she later impacted others, as an adult, in the very same way as her kindness impacted me. I hadn't seen her or Laura in probably 30 years but my memories of those sweet gals & their parents are still very strong & vivid to me. Childhood church friends like Lisa are a big part of the fabric that stitches me together, even today. Please know that I am much more thankful of your friendship during those years than the temporary sorrow I feel today. May God bless you with immense joy in remembering Lisa and who she was. ROB KESSLER, OCTOBER 10, 2016 Laverne and family, We are sending our love and prayers to all of you. Lisa

ERIC AND LORI BATES, OCTOBER 6, 2016 Still shocked and saddened today thinking of the loss we have here on earth with Lisa's passing. Everything is cyclical and through all the years, we've managed to remain friends and colleagues at various points in time. I feel blessed to have worked with, learned from, laughed with, Super Bowl partied with and loved Lisa and her family. I remember Hannah catching one of the 3 splits of my wedding bouquet, my how she has grown into such a lovely young woman. I know Lisa was proud! My prayers will remain with Scott, Shawn, Hannah, Laura and your parents and all who feel this profound loss here on earth. May Lisa be forever at peace resting in the arms of our Lord. In my Father s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going. DAVID W. Wings As she walks with him may she smile and laugh larger than she ever did in life here She moves with ease and has no more fear There is no pain, regret or desire even near The thought of being with him makes the path ahead very clear He came for her and that was an invitation she could not deny Now she walks gracefully above with the other Angel's in the sky As we have tears dropping from our eye Wipe them and smile as you remember she has her wings and can now fly The biggest promotion ever to be given to her The one we all should prepare for We shall see her again A sister, daughter, mother, wife and friend In loving memory of Lisa Hoag May this poem bring peace of mind in your time of need Our thoughts and prayers are
