A NOTE FROM YOUR PASTOR During this Liturgical season many of the Gospel readings are from Saint Matthew. Although he wrote in the later part of the first century, his verses from Chapter 7: 7-8 was part of the classic statement from Field of Dreams, if you build it they will come. Saint Matthew wrote Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. As you know, I have been looking to hire a part time Adult Faith Formation coordinator. I am pleased to inform you that Barbara Conder has accepted our offer to serve as Director of Adult Faith Formation. A LETTER FROM OUR ADOPTED SEMINARIAN Cathedral Parishioners, This year of formation to the priesthood has been filled with Gods love and his grace. At St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee the second theologians primarily focused on different ministerial experiences. My ministerial experience was working with a group called Franciscan Peacemakers who take it upon themselves to help women who are living and working on the streets of Milwaukee and provide an opportunity for these women to leave the lives of bondage and drugs that many of them find themselves in. This ministry opened my eyes to a new understanding of what it means to serve Christ in all people. This summer I will be continuing to learn what it means to serve God's people in a Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E) program in Rockford Illinois where I will have the opportunity to minister to people in a hospital setting. I fully expect for this to be a summer of growth in prayer and what it means to serve God in little ways. I ask for prayers as I continue on this journey of formation towards the Heart of Christ and (God willing) His holy priesthood. Thank you for your prayers and support, Adam J. Bradley

"Contemplative prayer is nothing else than a close sharing between friends; it means taking time frequently to be alone with Him who we know loves us." ~St. Teresa of Avila In the past few weeks, you have practiced turning to God during the day as you would to a friend, sharing conversation. You have practiced speaking and being quiet. This week when you take time during your day to be with God, focus your attention on listening to Him. A good friend knows when to speak and when to listen.
