l Morales Memo Miguel & Maria Morales Missionaries in Panama Cel.: 561-319-1801 Tel.: 214-814-5424 miguel@moralesmissions.org September 2013 Hello friends, It has been an eventful summer and a busy nine months. Since January, we have been through 21 states and put over 30,000 miles on our car, not to mention thousands of air miles. We are encouraged to see so many of you throughout the country have responded to our need. Thanks to you about 80% of our monthly budget has been raised. Praise the Lord! Yet, we still need to raise the balance of our monthly budget and about 3/4 of our cash budget. Please agree with us in prayer for those the Lord will bring to partner with us in reaching the spiritually lost, making disciples, and training new workers for the harvest. Indigenous cultures of Panama Panama has a diverse group of indigenous cultures that play an important role in the country s cultural diversity. There are seven distinct indigenous cultures, represented by over 415,000 people that make up almost 13% of the overall population. Many believe in various forms of voodoo and have statuettes guarding their homes. Some villages have a spiritual leader figure, similar to a ''shaman'', who will have dreams that will be later interpreted. Others villages have mixed several beliefs due to being evangelized then abandoned. They confuse Biblical truths and traditional religious practices, creating churches with followers who are taught differing ideas and are victim to incorrect teaching and false doctrine. We desire to assist in outreach, discipleship and training among the indigenous peoples of Panama. They need not only evangelists who will bring truth, but also teachers who will instruct them and raise up pastors according to the Bible that will be able to carry on the process. They also need the Bible translated in their native languages. Without this, it makes it even harder for believers to learn more about the Gospel on their own. Miguel and Maria share their call and burden for Panama We need your help! For us to return to the mission field, we need your help! Take a few minutes and ask the Lord what He would have you do. Please help us today in a tangible and financial way through a monthly missions commitment and a one-time cash offering. You can do this via our website at www.moralesmissions.org. No amount is too small. Thank you so very much for partnering with us reaching the spiritually lost, making disciples, and training ministry leaders! Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of so many people in Panama and throughout Latin America. Your partners in the harvest, Miguel, Maria, Natalie & Nicole
