THIS WEEK S SCHEDULE E & ANNOUNCEMENTS PLEASE NOTE: Until further notice the York Hill Blvd. doors will be locked. Please use the Parking Lot doors. For safety & security purposes please don t leave packages etc. outside the office. Office hours are: Monday - Thursday: 9 AM - 5 PM Friday: 9 AM - 2 PM A PRACTICAL INCLUSION TIP So ALL of Us Feel Valued and Welcome at BAYT Inclusion Through Connection to Others- EMPATHY Do you ever feel disconnected from your loved ones? Or, are you socially awkward and have trouble connecting with others? The following, one of seven steps, is a proven time-tested method based on the Kabbalah s sevendimensional emotional spectrum to improve how you bond with others. When you empathize and feel the pain and joy of another person you open up the channels of connection between you and the other. An obvious but almost always effective way to connect is to listen compassionately to the other person. We are required to recite Birchot hatorah (Hebrew/English Artscroll Siddur pg. 16) before studying Torah. Reciting these berachot in the morning fulfills our requirement for the entire day. Regarding one who stays up all night: This person has not ended the effect of the previous day's berachot by sleeping. On the other hand, Birchot hatorah could be viewed as a daily requirement. Because of this uncertainty, one who stays up all night should hear Birchot hatorah recited by someone else, after alot hashachar (halachic dawn). One who does not have the option of hearing Birchot hatorah from someone else should view the berachah of Ahavah Rabbah recited before the morning Shema as Birchot hatorah, keeping this in mind while reciting it. One who naps in bed for more than 30 minutes on Erev Shavuot, and then stays up all night, may recite Birchot hatorah in the morning after alot hashachar.
