Matthew 13 Catholic Collaborative Mary, Holy Mother of God January 1, 2017 A group of St. Mary s parishioners volunteered at the December 12th Breaking Bread dinner. They helped with the set-up, cooking, serving and clean-up of dinner and making desserts for the guests. A big thank you for doing a terrific job to Matt and Allie Brown, Elizabeth Viano, Louise, Maggie and Taryn O Leary, Kerry and Tommy Pitman, Lana Waite, Mary Garrity, Annie and Declan Hunter, Pat Bigelow, Tricia Kelly, Tom Waitekus, Mimi Connell, Jody Jung, Kathleen Madden, Mike Grant, Janet Nye, Michaela and Natalie Kirby, Linda Viano, Eileen and Mary Hickey and Tom and Marilyn Gregory. The people at the donation center for The Home for Little Wanderers were extremely happy to receive 6 bins full of toys, diapers, and toiletries. The parishioners at St Mary's are extremely generous people! Two huge containers full of toys and gift cards were delivered to The Italian Home for Children in JP. The people working at The Home were very appreciative of St. Mary's generosity! Kaleigh Patricia McLaughlin, Claire Elizabeth Lobsitz, Katherine Anne Chiaccio and Nora Margaret Fortino were baptized at St. Mary s last month. We offer congratulations to their families and welcome them to our community. On the weekend of January 21-22, St. Mary and Blessed Sacrament parishes will hold our Annual Baby Showers for the benefit of Pregnancy Help of the Archdiocese. We are asking that the gifts be brought in unwrapped and placed in the playpen in the sanctuary of St. Mary Church or by the doors at Blessed Sacrament. Suggested gifts include clothes for Newborns, winter outfits for 3-6 months, Baby Wipes, 4 oz. & 8 oz. bottles, Baby Thermometers, Desitin, and Pack n Plays (no formula, please). Cash donations are also accepted and will be put towards the purchase of a stroller-- many moms take public transportation and need a compact stroller. Please make checks payable to the ProLife Office. In most cases, the babies are born to mothers in need and the baby showers held in the parishes provide them with a generous layette. Because of the incredible generosity of our parishioners, we were able to give a donation of toys, gift cards and wrapping paper to Catholic Charities in Brockton and donations to Old Post Road Giving Fund, too! Please pray for John R. Dugan and George Ryan whose funeral masses were at St. Mary Parish last month. 6
