TEAM EXPANSION is focused on multiplying disciples and churches among the unreached. Throughout the history of Team Expansion, our purpose has remained the same - to work together in teams in order to establish viable, multiplying communities of believers in some of the least reached places on the earth. From our birth out of a prayer movement at then-kentucky Christian College in 1978, through our first missionaries in 1982, and now with our more than 300 full time missionaries in over 40 countries, this has been our focus. Simply put, we are church planters. We believe that God wants all men to be saved (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9), and we are grateful that He has called us to be a part of spreading His glory among the last 7000 unreached people groups!

A summer as a Pathways intern will stretch you in more ways than you can imagine. Starting with fundraising (all fields have a flat-rate of $5500), through Pre-Field Orientation, during your 8 weeks overseas, and ending with debriefing, God will be working on your heart. Pathways interns go in teams, and they work with established Team Expansion missionaries. They do everything from language learning to Englishteaching, from VBS-style camps to planting sustainable gardens. Most importantly, they get a chance to see what missionary life is really like. If you think God is calling you to missions, and you are 18 or over, then Pathways is your chance to find out for sure! Go to WWW.TEAMEXPANSION.ORG/PROFILE to get started. Full applications are due by December 8.

FAQs 1. WHO IS PATHWAYS FOR? Have you ever thought that God might be calling you into missions? Do you want to see what life is like overseas? Are you convicted by the reality of the unreached and want to do something about it? Then Pathways is for you! Pathways internships are about experiencing the reality of missions work among unreached peoples. 2. WILL I GET TO CHOOSE WHICH FIELD I GO TO? You will be asked for your top three fields and why you feel drawn to them. Because of many factors, Team Expansion does not guarantee that you will get your top field choice. But we do guarantee that, if you are willing to learn and follow God s leading, you will have an unforgettable summer! 3. WHAT IS COVERED IN THE $5,500 I HAVE TO RAISE? As a Pathways intern, you will be required to raise $5,500, regardless of which field you go to. That money will cover everything from the time you arrive for training to the time you leave Louisville to return home: flights, visas, food, lodging, language school, ministry expenses, and even some fun money.

4. WHAT IF I RAISE MORE THAN WHAT IS NEEDED? If you raise more than the required $5,500, you have a number of options, including stipend, reimbursements, donation, or reserve. 5. WILL I NEED A VISA? VACCINATIONS? Possibly. Some countries require visas, some do not. It s the same thing with vaccinations. But don t worry, we at Team Expansion will take care of making sure you have all the right information and paperwork at all the right times. 6. DO I NEED TO KNOW THE LANGUAGE BEFORE I GO? You will spend part of your summer in some form of language training. Team Expansion believes that learning the heart language of a people is important if we are to reach them with the Gospel, but we also understand that there is only so much you can accomplish in just one summer! 7. WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG? From lost baggage to natural disasters, overseas travel carries a lot of variables. Team Expansion works to be ready for anything that might happen, and we cover the entire summer in prayer. We ve already started praying!

EAST ASIA NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 544 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 445 TOTAL POPULATION: 1,374,680,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 184,202,000 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 7.9% % EVANGELICAL: 6.24% LARGEST RELIGION: Non-Religious (44.8%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: Chinese, Mandarin 10/40 WINDOW: Yes

A team in this secure country is attempting to equip and mobilize local churches in their province. They hope to train those believers to plant churches among the unreached. The team is also mobilizing prayer and church planting among several specific unreached groups. In addition to language and cultural immersion, interns will engage in day-to-day ministry. On any given day, this might include concentrated intentional prayer, discipling believers, assisting with Discovery Bible Studies, and engaging in spiritual conversations casually and in homes. Interns will see first-hand the struggles and opportunities believers in this restricted-access country face and the victories God is accomplishing through their faithfulness. Interns will share the team s commitment to being God-dependent, reliant on prayer, focused on simple and reproducible methods, interested in real-life transformation, and determined to keep the work in the hands of the local believers.

FRANCE NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 69 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 12 TOTAL POPULATION: 62,637,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 24,342,000 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 61% % EVANGELICAL: 1% LARGEST RELIGION: Roman Catholic (60%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: French 10/40 WINDOW: No, but home to many immigrants

Poitiers, France is a small city of 120,000 with a huge influence, as it s home to almost 30,000 university students from 120 different nations. Team Expansion helped start the Christian Church of Poitiers. The church has discipled and sent out many university students to serve in churches across the world. Interns will be involved in language learning, prayer walks, Bible studies, children s ministry, English conversation and possibly preaching and music depending on fluency. The university will be closed for the summer, but come willing to consider if God is calling you to return as a university student or full-time team member. This team is looking for young men and women willing to live life as Christ calls us to with the French people. Because of history and traditions, most have no idea what it really means to be a Christ-follower.

ITALY NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 105 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 24 TOTAL POPULATION: 59,741,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 2,075,000 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 81.3% % EVANGELICAL: 1.28% LARGEST RELIGION: Christianity (81.3%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: Italian 10/40 WINDOW: No

The area of Castelli Romani is comprised of a group of cities and towns on the hills located just southeast of Rome. This history-filled area of Italy has a population of over 300,000 people. Although a few evangelical/protestant churches exist, the total number of believers does not reach 0.2% of the population. In the neighborhood of Santa Maria delle, our team is sowing the seeds of the Gospel. Interns will be introduced to the Italian language and culture and will have their own English students to guide through the lessons that tell God s story of redemption. They will participate in the university discipleship group, experience cultural activities, attend an Italian church, cooperate in some outreach events, and have time to see the sights of Rome. Potential team members will love Christ, be committed to the great commission, and be willing to use their spiritual gifts and abilities to make disciples for Christ.

LOUISVILLE NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 72 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 49 TOTAL POPULATION: 1,300,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 36,231 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 51% % EVANGELICAL: 24% LARGEST RELIGION: Christianity (51%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: English 10/40 WINDOW: No, but home to many immigrants

Louisville, Kentucky seems like an unlikely place for cross-cultural immersion. But in the city of 1.3 million people, there are currently 72 people groups. And 49 of those groups are considered unreached in their home nations. There are 137 languages spoken in Jefferson County Public Schools K-12 (JCPS), and about 70,000 foreign born people from countries all over the world live in the city. Interns will experience cross cultural, inner-city ministry. They will help implement the fruitful practices of disciple multiplication movements. They will prayer walk, share their story and God s story, and start multiplying Bible study groups with specific tools. The right interns for this experience will have a willingness to engage their community in spiritual discussions, an abiding faith in Christ, a willingness to learn and use new strategies, and a desire to live and grow in community.

TANZANIA NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 156 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 31 TOTAL POPULATION: 56,810,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 5,154,000 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 50.7% % EVANGELICAL: 11.37% LARGEST RELIGION: Christianity (50.7%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: Swahili 10/40 WINDOW: No

Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa. It has a population of 57 million. It is estimated that between 33-50% of the population is Muslim. Our team consists of two families who are trying to start simple home churches in Dar es Salaam. Dar has a population of 5 million people, and is the fastest growing city in Africa. Interns will be spending time in prayer and the Word, studying Swahili, and learning local culture. They will get to participate in accountability groups and Discovery Bible Studies. They will likely be teaching English, and should have opportunities to share their testimony and the Gospel with the English students. Our team in Dar is looking for interns who are faithful, available and teachable. If you are considering full-time mission service and want to be exposed to urban missions in Africa, consider serving as an intern in Tanzania.

TURKEY NUMBER OF PEOPLE GROUPS: 65 # OF UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: 45 TOTAL POPULATION: 79,418,000 UNREACHED POPULATION: 79,045,000 % PROFESSING CHRISTIAN: 0.4% % EVANGELICAL: 0.03% LARGEST RELIGION: Islam (96.5%) OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: Turkish 10/40 WINDOW: Yes

The team is in a city of 5 million+ on the west coast of Turkey. Turkey is a Muslim nation, though many people in the team s city practice a very relaxed form of Islam. The primary means of outreach so far is coaching American football at a university, so many of the connections are with young men. However, interns do not need to have experience in football to spend time with these young men or to build relationships with other Turks. Interns will have the opportunity to learn some Turkish, and will be expected to share their testimony and engage in Gospel conversations with English speakers. The team practices simple church, and uses basic but powerful Bible studies as their primary tool in discipling. Interns will have the opportunity to hear from God in surprising ways if they can make themselves available and teachable.
