From your Interim Pastor We are halfway through the season of Lent, looking ahead to the events of Holy Week and the celebration of the Resurrection. If you have done any of the suggestions from the Lent Journey March calendar, take time to ask yourself if those are habits to continue. When we reach April 1, think about your Lenten pilgrimage this year. The extra worship services offer opportunities to see God, to deepen your relationship with God, and to gain strength for the daily journeys of life. The words of The Lord's Prayer and The Apostle's Creed are familiar; we say them in most worship services. But saying, and meaning, can be very different. Those words should engage our hearts and our minds, influence our lives, guide our decisions. Baptized in water, sealed by the Spirit, we are children of God. We carry the mark of the cross on our forehead. But, how often do others recognize that cross? Can they see through words or actions that you are a child of God? Do they experience your forgiveness as you receive God's forgiveness? Each time we leave the church, we are strengthened for God's service, sent into the world to shine the light and love of God so others can find God. The Great Commission from Christ, to go into the world, teaching and baptizing, begins right outside the church door. Go, with God's love. Pastor Linda Page 2
