Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. ESSENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS INFORMATION MISSION TRIP REFLECTIONS Yayasan Abdi Agape, Pontianak, West Kalimantan (Nov 24-27) Andrea Chua Very thankful to have hopped on this trip albeit being late. I found myself in constant fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Hunger and resilience I see in them, and immense potential worth a lifetime s investment. To rediscover God s heart for the lost and poor felt incredibly life-changing. All we are called to, is to obey, and the rest shall be his harvest. Will definitely be back. Rachel Teo The highlight of this trip is the time spent with the children where I get to communicate with them. Not knowing each other s languages well, we had to use google translate to get a grasp of what we were saying to one another. But it did not stop us from sharing and knowing one another more. This trip opened my eyes to things I did not encounter thus far and it motivates me to live my life differently and to give thanks to God always. Rebecca Koh Although I was teaching the orphans, yet I feel I have learnt so much from interacting with them. I can see that their hearts are big for God and they serve with whatever they have. This mission trip have made me realized that as BBTCians, we are very strong and well-grounded in God s Word, and this has made equipping the children very fruitful. I hope to see more teams going there to equip the children. Chen Lijia What an awesome time I had, hanging out with the orphans on this second trip. We played till our tears flowed, sang worship songs like there was no tomorrow and taught them on their identity in Christ Jesus through devotions and a workshop. My heart was truly warmed to see such a display of innocence that even when there was a power trip on one of the afternoons, the children and youths did not utter a single word of complaint I went there to bless but was so greatly blessed in return. All glory to God! Jeslyn Koh It always felt like home to be back in YAA and to reconnect with the orphans even though many of them are new. It was a privilege to teach them the truth of their identity in Christ and to encourage them to affirm that truth in one another. The Lord also downloaded a personal message from the story of Abraham s sacrifice of Isaac which I shared with the church in Siantan. My prayer is that many more of us will respond as Abraham did and say to Him Here I am to go forth and disciple the nations. BREAKFAST FUNDRAISING (DEC 17) Remember the SAV (Siantan Agape Voices) at BBTC Christmas in 2012? Come, eat and support the West Kalimantan orphanage ministry this Sunday. 6
