A box of Manna Bags is located under the side balcony by the mail slots. Each bag contains a bottle of water, non-perishable food items, and a list of local resources and organizations. Manna Bags can be given to the homeless you see on the streets, the person on the street corner asking for help, or a person that God has placed in your path needing your help. Feel free to grab a bag to keep in your car to offer when you encounter a person who may benefit from its contents. The altar flowers are presented by Scot & Deb Blouch in celebration of the 40th wedding anniversary today! Congratulations! Think about how many decisions we make each morning before we even walk out the door: black socks or blue? Cheerios or Raisin Bran? Winter coat or jacket? These choices may be inconsequential, but many other decisions have significant implications. How do we choose wisely as we seek to live abundantly? The LIFE class will be exploring this question this morning as Karen Haldeman leads our discussion as part of our series on Abundant Living. Join us in the parlor at 10:30 a.m.! Next week, we will join other classes to learn more about the ministry of Brethren Housing Association. Comings & Goings: Gail Wagner will be on medical leave from May 4 - May 18 while she recuperates from ankle surgery.

Children Activities: Live Out Loud (4th - 7th grade): Thursdays, 3:00-5:00 p.m. Paint Party (K-5th grade): May 19 - see separate announcement for more information. Page Turners...The conversation gathering for the book, A Gentleman in Moscow, which took place on Sunday, April 15 was engaging and well attended. The group selected, Plainsong, by Kent Haruf, as its next book to read. Plainsong is a powerful tale of seven lonely lives set on the stark but beautiful high plains of Colorado. It is a story of the abandonment, grief, and stoicism that bring these people together, and it is a story of the kindness, hope, and dignity that redeem their lives. Plainsong is an American classic; a novel to care about, believe in, and learn from. The conversation gathering is scheduled for Sunday, June 24, at 3:00 p.m. in the Parlor. Everyone is welcomed to read this novel and join us for the conversation on June 24 th. Crystal Brown, Executive Director, and Jessica Johnson Vinton, Director of Development with The Brethren Housing Association will be our guests on Sunday May 13. Founded in 1980 through the partnership of several Church of the Brethren congregations including our own today the BHA is an independent, nonprofit, interdenominational human services organization based in Harrisburg serving homeless women and their children and families. Begin your celebration of Mothers Day with Crystal and Jessica who will be leading us in worship. After fellowship, plan to attend a special hour learning in the Fellowship hall and learn more about the BHA and its role in bringing hope and help to people in need. Building Bridges Past, Present, Future. This is a capital fund campaign for Camp Swatara with a goal of raising $800,000 to enhance the Camp s facilities.
