They participated in a beautiful Reflection Day on Tuesday facilitated by Marist-Sion students and many families took the opportunity to attend the prayer session with Fr Hilarion on Tuesday evening. Across the school, teachers and students have been discussing the importance and significance of this beautiful Sacrament. Some of the ideas explored in class have been; There are three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. When we make our Confirmation, the promises made on our behalf at Baptism are deepened, and we confirm our commitment, in front of our family, friends and church family that we want to be members of the Church community and live as Christians. Please remember the Confirmation Candidates in your prayers as well as all members of the Columba Community; We pray: Spirit of the loving God, may your peace rest on this place and time. May your spirit fall afresh on us, so that your flames of love warm our hearts. Let the power of your spirit transform us, so that we become messengers of your good news. In Grade 1/2H, we have been exploring all the different ways we can represent the different parts of a number up to four digits. Here are some of the different ways we have found... Bundling Sticks Chase has made 74 with bundling sticks - 7 bundles of ten and 4 individual sticks. Expanded Form Carlie is showing the four different parts of her numbers - thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. MABs Deakin and Albert can build their numbers using the blocks. These blocks are placed by themselves, in sticks of ten, squares of 100 or cubes of 1000. Arrow Cards Eilish and Sammy can use these cards to make a number and then split it to show the four different parts of the number. Bead Strings Isaac models 82 using beads 8 groups of ten and 2 beads Lucy and Hayley have been writing their numbers in words
