So we are British! What does it mean to be British? We are going to think about this for part of today s gathering. Listen to this video about traditional British values: I learnt this when I was a boy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2_8n7wsif w&list=rdy2_8n7wsifw&index=20
When a Knight Won his Spurs. When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old He was gentle and brave he was gallant and bold With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand For God and for valour he rode through the land! No charger have I, and no sword by my side Yet still to adventure and battle I ride Though back into storyland giants have fled And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead! Let faith be my shield and let joy be my steed Gainst the dragons of anger and the ogres of greed And let me set free with the sword of my youth From the castle of darkness, the power of the truth!
Britishness? What is it then? Does anyone know who this gentleman is?
Britishness? What is it then? It is Mr David Cameron and he is our Prime Minister. Mr Cameron is very keen on you knowing about being British and having British Values!
Being British. We all live in Britain so we all share British Values Not all of us were born in Britain but Mr Cameron (and I) feel that we should all share and value what it means to be part of this great country of ours This Great Britain! We should be proud of our country and its heritage. We should all be proud to be British.
What does it mean to be British? It means being part of something bigger than just ourselves. A bit like being part of a big team Just like our school Just like our families It s not just about me it s about us. It s about standing up for the truth and justice We call it doing the right thing, because it is the right thing to do!
