Page 2 Message from the East Brethren: I bid you greetings in this the month of November with the end of Daylight Savings Time and Veterans Day and the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. With the Grand Lodge sessions now over we look forward to a new year and the continuation of our fine order. Veritas Lodge Passed three of our Brothers to the Fellow Craft degree of Masonry on the 27th of October, This was done with the help of our Brothers from Saddleback Laguna Lodge No. 672 and Irvine Valley Lodge No. 671 looking on and joining with us. It is an inspiration to have Masonic Brothers share in the passing of Brothers in this esteemed order. We will hold our Stated Meeting on the 10th of November. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday falling on the 24th of the month of November we will be dark for the rest of the month of November. Plan accordingly. We will accordingly hold our Elections of Officers on the 10th of November as the Installation of 2017 Officers will take place on the 3rd of December at Veritas Lodge in Dana Point. All are welcome to attend. Please join with us on this special day. Page 3 Message from the West Brethren, November is the month for reflection on those things for which we are thankful. This year I am extremely thankful for the hard work and dedication the Brethren at Veritas Lodge devoted to making our startup venture prosper. In 2016 Veritas initiated 5 entered apprentices, passed 3 Fellowcraft, and raised 1 Master Mason in addition to gaining several Affiliations. We showed our support for the community at the Swallows Day, and Lake Forest 4 th of July parades. We had 100% officers participation in the Grand Masters project, and continued to support education through our backpack program. This was all made possible by the leadership of Worshipful Reeves, hard work from our members, and support from neighboring lodges. Our candidates have also been working hard to advance and seek further light in Masonry. Congratulations to Brothers Joseph Lechnar, Erik Cuellar and Jacob Janoska on delivering fantastic proficiencies and being passed to the Fellowcraft degree! Veritas Lodge is looking forward to raising Master Masons during the early part of next year. Also, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Brethren of Saddleback Laguna and Irvine Valley Lodges for coming out to show their support and brotherly love for Worshipful Reeves. Our Stated Meeting in November will be on the 10 th where we will hold our Election of Officers. Please join us in selecting our leadership for the ensuing Masonic year. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday, I look forward to see everyone at Lodge. On the level, Kevin Betz Senior Warden Veritas Lodge No. 855 2016 INSTALLED OFFICERS Master - Charles E. Page 4 Message from the South Brethren, The month of The Harvest and Halloween are behind us, and the waning horizon is commencing to pull us closer to the seasonal celebrations of our Veterans of the Armed Services, and the commemoration and offering of our National Bird to those dearest and near to us. Our October 27th Special Meeting delivered in more ways in a single evening than has ever been had in a single night by Veritas during our 4 year history together. Worshipful Jason Petz, Ken Bennett, and Tom Gruenbeck of Saddleback Laguna Lodge (the Parent Lodge of most of our Charter Members), along with several other Past Masters and Brothers from Saddleback Laguna Lodge and Irvine Valley Lodge, commuted their Brotherly Love and Relief in a very kind gesture to express their heartfelt condolences to Worshipful Charles Reeves after the loss of his daughter early last month. Worshipful Reeves gregarious personality has been a tremendous pillar of Veritas, and despite being in the midst of some very difficult tribulations these last couple years he has not ceased to maintain his good attitude and warm sense of humor. I would like to extend my gratitude to Brother Tom Gruenbeck, sitting Junior Warden of Saddleback Laguna Lodge, for providing the smoked brisket and chicken dinner on the evening of October 27th, when Saddleback presented Worshipful Reeves with their Traveling Light before our Triple 2nd Degree. Brothers Joseph Lechnar, Erik Cuellar, and Jacob Janoska were very lucky indeed to have been accepted as our newly Passed Fellow Crafts on such a well-attended evening. It was impressive to say the least how many visiting Brethren were present the day before Grand Communication in San Francisco. Coming together to relieve the distressed during troubled times is the cornerstone of what makes all good Masons and is one of the paramount personality traits of the human experience, and Saddleback Laguna s affectionate gesture was greatly appreciated by all the Brothers of Veritas. Thank you! As always, I sincerely wish everyone the best of health and good fortune this month. By The Plumb, Weston Luke, Junior Warden Veritas Lodge No. 855, F. & A. M.
