How to Put it Together For this lapbook, you will want to put together the file folder first. Pick out a file folder you would like to use, maybe have your child pick the color they want if you have colored file folders. You do not need to fold the file folder in any special way for this lapbook. Next, choose the cover for your lapbook (the boy or girl cover) and have your child write their name on the cover at the bottom in the space provided. Have your child cut out the cover and glue it onto the front of their lapbook. or Now that you have your file folder completed, you are now ready to start you booklets.
This is suppose to be a fun way to learn and reinforce the books of the Bible as well as practicing handwriting. Pick what you will start with, Old testament, New testament etc. Next, have your child trace the books of the bible, for large booklets, such as the Old and New Testaments this might Take a few day depending on how much your child can write per day. Glue Glue Glue Do not cut this rectangle off! **** **** Do not cut off the blank rectangle(s) at the end of the booklet(s). The extra rectangles are needed so the booklet will fold and glue into the lapbook properly. One the tracing is complete cut out booklet pieces. For example the above booklet has two pieces. Once pieces are cut out, spread glue on tab as shown above, now put pieces together, glue tab behind second piece, as shown below.
Front **** **** put glue on the backside of the blank rectangle (not the front- the side facing you) and glue into lapbook Let dry completely. Once dry, your child is now ready to fold the booklet. (You might need to help them with this.) All booklets will be folded like an accordion. Fold one page back, one forward and so on. Once folded put glue on the back of the blank rectangle (not the front) and glue booklet into lapbook. Do this for all the booklets.
See below a suggested placement guide for the booklets in your file folder. Please note some of the booklets such as the Old and New Testament booklets are large And will take a couple days to complete. They will also be thick when folded.
