Let us always live in the light and the truth of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. A TIME WITH ALL GOD S CHILDREN PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison) Almighty and most merciful God, God our Creator, Redeemer, and Keeper, we have been created to reflect your image, but we have spoiled the perfection of your model. We acknowledge our shortcomings and brokenness, and come before you now to confess our sinfulness and ask your forgiveness. Notes: (NC) New Century Hymnal (black) (P) Pilgrim Hymnal (blue) (R) Pew Bible, Revised Standard Version (N) Pew Bible, New Revised Standard Version *All who are able, please stand Psalm 85 1 LORD, you were favorable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. 2 You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin. 3 You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger. 4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us. 5 Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? 6 Will you not revive us again, so that your people may rejoice in you? 7 Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation. 8 Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. 9 Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. 10 Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. 11 Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky. 12 The LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps. 6
Announcements Church Council Meeting There will be a meeting of the full Church Council this coming Tuesday, July 26, at 4:15 pm in the church vestry. This important meeting will cover several issues important for the Annual Meeting in August. Ministry of Feeding Hunger knows no season, and despite the warm weather and relaxing times, our ministry of feeding continues. And so we ask that when you head to the market for groceries and such, please consider shopping for a few extra items of non-perishable foods for those who live with the very real stress of food insecurity. Then drop by the church or Emerson Hall, and with a prayer of hope, drop those items into our collection baskets. Each month we distribute the food and personal items we collect to food pantries in Blue Hill and Orland. With your love, you can make a difference in the lives of local families. Thank you for your prayerful support of our efforts to end hunger, one meal at a time. On the Prayer List In the work of our church, we continue to pray for the sick and afflicted in our congregation and throughout our community: Lloyd Snapp, Monte Nitzkowski, Cyndy Willis, Mimi Dickson. 7
Be sure to check out our Continuing Prayers list in the church vestry for the names of friends and members needing long-term care, prayer, and support.
