The Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav nly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. RENEWAL The Call to Renewal Acts 2:38-39 And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself, The Sacrament of Baptism Karis Zimrah Daniels To the Parents: 1. Do you acknowledge your child s need of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and the renewing grace of the Holy Spirit? 2. Do you claim God s covenant promises in her behalf, and do you look in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ for her salvation, as you do for your own? 3. Do you now unreservedly dedicate your child to God, and promise, in humble reliance upon divine grace, that you will endeavor to set before her a godly example, that you will pray with and for her, that you will teach her the doctrines of our holy religion, and that you will strive, by all of God s appointed means, to bring her up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord? To the Congregation: Do you as a congregation undertake the responsibility of assisting the parents in the Christian nurture of this child? 5
The Hymn of Hope and Aspiration Lamb of God Your only Son, no sin to hide, But You have sent Him from Your side To walk upon this guilty sod, And to become the Lamb of God. Chorus: O Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God; I love the holy Lamb of God O wash me in His precious blood, My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God Your gift of love they crucified, They laughed and scorned Him as He died; The humble King they named a fraud, And sacrificed the Lamb of God Chorus I was so lost I should have died, But You have brought me to Your side To be led by your staff and rod, And to be called a lamb of God. Chorus The Giving of Our Tithes and Offerings* Timothy Hughes Be unto Your Name by Lynn DeShazo & Gary Sadler 6 *Online giving is also available at skyviewpca.org/giving.
COMMITMENT The Reading of Holy Scripture Romans 8:28-39 Pew Bible pg. 613-614 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died more than that, who was raised who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 7

The Sacrament of the Lord s Supper Communion, also called The Lord s Supper or the Eucharist, is the family meal for Christians. We invite all committed followers of Jesus Christ to partake of this sacrament: those who are baptized members of an evangelical congregation that proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ, who are at peace with God and with their neighbor, and who seek strength to live more faithfully for Christ. If you are not a Christian, or if you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with His people, the church. Prayers of Meditation for Those Not Communing If you are unable to receive Communion, please use this time to meditate on one of the following prayers. Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life that you promise. Amen. Prayer of Belief Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever before believed, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment on the cross, and offering forgiveness and new life. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior and Lord. Amen.
