We welcome Cathy Hamner, Meredith Lanier, and Lorraine Magnuson as our guest musicians this morning in worship. We welcome Meredith Lanier, violin and viola soloist, to our service today. Meredith is a principal player in the HBBC orchestra and a graduate student at Campbell University Divinity School. She is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree with double concentrations in church music and children s ministry. Meredith is from Hartsville, South Carolina and a graduate of Furman University. This academic year, Meredith will be serving as our music scholar assisting with orchestra, chancel choir, and children s choir. ALL STATE YOUTH CHOIR CONCERT--TONIGHT Those selected for the North Carolina Baptist All-State Youth Choir (ASYC) have participated in a week-long retreat and tour, and their final performance will be held here at HBBC tonight at 6:00 PM. This year s theme is Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly. We hope that you will join us for the performance tonight! NEXT SUMMER SIZZLE CLASS JULY 27 Learn how to make warm weather dishes that pair fresh produce with proteins or meatless main dishes, using fresh ingredients grown in Dolly s Garden and sourced from local farmer s markets. Each class will consist of a cooking demo and then the fun part... eating the meal that was prepared and enjoying a time of fellowship together. On July 27, we ll be vegging out with grilled summer vegetables on an artisan baguette. Sign up for all or just a few to match your schedule. The remaining dates are July 13 & 27, and August 10 & 24, from 11:00-1:00 PM. Classes cost $10/person, covering the cost of food and supplies. To register, call the church, or sign up at www.hbbc.org/summersizzle. FINAL SUMMER NIGHTS CONCERT AUGUST 3 Join us for our final Summer Nights Concert on August 3 at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary! The concert will feature a trio of trumpet, organ and strings, and you won t want to miss out! Your whole family is invited to join us, and childcare will be provided for children ages birth-2 years old. Following the concert, we would love for you to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a dessert reception. BAPTISM ON AUGUST 7 On Sunday, August 7, we will have the opportunity to welcome new members to HBBC through baptism. If you are interested in being baptized, or speaking to a minister about what being baptized means, please contact Christine Moore (cmoore@hbbc.org) and she will help you schedule a time to speak with one of the ministers. BE A PRAYER PARTNER! As part of our Together-Together goals, we set a goal to have 120 prayer partners. These would be people that gathered together in pairs to pray for the work of the Holy Spirit and the life of the church at HBBC. Prayer is a vital part of the intentional ministry here. As a Prayer Partner you will: Partner with one other HBBC member. Meet with your partner at least once a month to pray over specific timely needs of HBBC. Receive a monthly prayer guide of needs to pray over. Receive bi-weekly updates on requests and answered prayer. Have some special prayer ministry opportunities in the Fall and Winter to grow in your individual prayer life. Thank you for your willingness to pray! You can sign up by emailing Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org) with your prayer partnership information, or by filling out the tear-off card found in the Pew Pads and around the church.
