Seek Ye First Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, And all these things shall be added unto you, Allelu, alleluia. Ask, and it shall be given unto you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you, Allelu, alleluia. CCLI License No. 1027861 *CALL TO WORSHIP An asterisk * indicates to please stand, as able, to the Glory of God Light print for the leader and bold print for the congregation Seek first the kingdom of God really? And where would that be? Should we be doing that seeking? Is it somewhere off in the distance? In the future maybe? In another realm altogether? Or is it much closer, so close in fact, That it feels like our own heartbeat?
*HYMN OF PRAISE We, Thy People, Praise Thee No. 67 *OPENING PRAYER We, your people, praise you, God and why?... Good God, do you need that from us? Is your ego so fragile that you need others to prop you up? Does our praising you make you more favorably disposed towards us, So you will do nice things? Give us what we ask? Deliver the goodies? Is that why we offer our praise, and this prayer to manipulate you? Or is it really more about us? Is there something in us that needs to be opened up, Offered, extended, let go, in the hope that you will grab hold, And swing us around and around until we are disoriented, re-oriented? Dizzy with the energy of eternity? Seeing everything new? Ourselves included! And is such a thing even possible in Christ?! Amen! Amen. OUR LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Amen. SHARING THE BREAD AND CUP Jesus invites everyone to his table, so, you are welcome to come, receive a piece of bread from a server, dip it in the cup and eat (intinction is a churchy word for this). As you come, if you wish to make an offering, the plates are on the tables at the front for you to do so. You may also use one of the yellow prayer cards in the hymnal rack if you have a prayer request or joy. Those cards too may be placed in the offering plates. Relax.
