Shalom dear friends! I just returned from a strategic trip to Israel. Part of the purpose was to attend the Immanuel Ministries Board meeting. The Apple of His Eye is the newest partner with Immanuel Ministries in Joffa and the day long meeting gave us the opportunity to give input - especially for the newly installed pastor, Rev. Bradley Long (right). Also pictured, Bodil Skjøtt - chair; Dan Sered - leader of Jews For Jesus - Israel, and Rolf Heitmann - leading NCMI -Israel. PSALM 122:6 - PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! I met with Sahar (left) and his mentor, Yoel to discuss how we might encourage them in ministry and consider partnership in our next outreach in Israel in 2017. Please pray for them. Do you know who this person below is? He is a historic figure in the life of Israel... David Ben Gurion.

NAN C S CORNER Be Not Afraid! But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 Is fear a sin? NO!! We are to fear the Lord and fear the consequences of our sin. However, faith is the opposite of fear, when know to trust the Lord. Contradiction? Nope, we cannot please the Lord when we don t trust Him, but if we don t trust Him then fear Him! Faith is the opposite of fear. We are to Trust in the Lord with ALL of our hearts and LEAN NOT to our own understanding acknowledge HIM in all our ways and HE will direct our path. (Proverbs 3:5,6) I am continually amazed when I hear of how worried and fearful people are over the election. NEWSFLASH: God is not dead! God is still on the throne! Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4) I m not actually understanding what the concern is about. Oh yes I have heard all the explanations about the possibility of woes that each candidate might bring, but so what? I am still going to serve the Lord (wherever I am)! I am still going to love my husband and family! I will continue to pray and read the Bible! I will continue to spread the Gospel with zeal! Won t YOU? After living in Russia and witnessing the depth of spiritual growth of the believers there, I realized what a Disneyland atmosphere we Americans live in. Perhaps that is the crux of the reason for the intense spiritual apathy in our country. We are living, breathing, walking testimonies of God for others to witness. If we are wringing our hands and crying despair then we join the ranks of the unbelieving millions who have no hope. Shame. We have hope! We know how everything will end we ve read the Book! The world needs the Lord now more than ever, what an exciting time to be alive and share the TRUTH of God. Let your face show what your heart believes, let your attitude exude the hope that people are craving and let your mouth proclaim His love and blessings. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son Romans 8:28,29a Everything works together for believers. NO that s not a cliché that s the Word of God and a promise. Some people think that means that everything is going to be hunky dory nope. Romans 8:29 tells us that whatever happens is God s way of conforming us to the image of His Son. So many have misconstrued Romans 8:28 to mean we are going to have great times and get our wants met. When it actually means that everything is ordained to conform us to His image. What a loving Father we have. He continually works in our lives to draw us nearer to Him and His will. Finally, remember that nothing happens without His will. That s a fact. Even Satan needs his permission to do his evil work (see 1 st chapter of Job). My Bible says: The king s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it whithersoever he will. Proverbs 21:1 That means that He (God) already knows the outcome and all is in order. His order not ours. So, beloved, don t fret. Don t waste precious time in fear of an unknown future. God is still in control and He loves you! Romans 8:39 Blessings and love in Y shua, nancy

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Dear Cohen Family; for the past 18 months, the Lord has been teaching me much about trusting Him. The battle during much of this time brought with it depression, isolation, spiritual ware fare, and questioning of calling. My time as an Enrichment Teacher was nearing an end. I could feel it, even as the Lord continued to provide opportunities to serve through music worship ministry. I took a leap of faith and decided not to renew my teaching contract, in order to be faithful to God s call to serve His people in a congregational setting. This transition, however, would require that I find some sort of employment that could support me financially, as I both served the local church, and saved for my upcoming wedding. This ambiguous employment opportunity would have to fit very specific requirements: could not work on Sundays or Mondays, would have to work early in the day, before 2pm, meet a certain income level, and (as a special request I made to God) would be directly serving in His Kingdom advancement. I had about two months to find such an opportunity. A couple leads fell into my lap, but neither met the expectations that were originally offered. I almost despaired, but I knew better. The Lord reminded me of His mighty provision in the past, and for His children throughout history. The Holy Spirit brought to mind Proverbs 3. One evening, as I was telling God how frustrated and worried I was becoming, I decided to change my job searching strategy. Instead of looking locally, I hopped onto the internet and began typing various phrases into the search engine, such as Christian part-time jobs and work from home Christian jobs. The search led me to a job description whose details included very specific hours that were exactly the same hours I was needing. Moreover, the skill set required was one that I had experience in through my time in the music industry. Most importantly, this position would focus on aiding in the sharing of the Good News of Jesus! It really seemed too good to be true. Motivated by a little bit of hope and by a trust in who God is (a trust that has been forged through many tests), I applied. Within the week, calls and interviews were conducted, and the next week I was in training. I began my position as Itinerary Coordinator for AOHE in September. My mind is in awe of how the Lord has answered my prayers and displayed his faithful provision. I am so thankful that I did take a leap of faith and acted in obedience with His call for my life. The Lord operated in His mysterious ways and made straight my path. He is indeed trustworthy, even when we are uncertain of the details of what lies ahead. Thank you Steve and Nancy for your faithful commitment to prayer during your hiring process. I feel very privileged to be a small part of the mighty work the Lord is accomplishing in and through your ministry. Your grace and patience as I learn the ins and outs of this position are greatly appreciated. I am excited to be working with you! May the peace of Christ abide with you during this season, as our Lord lays a foundation for the work that is to come! Grace & Peace, Izabela We are thrilled to have Izabela as our newest team member of The Apple of His Eye. She is making it possible for us to continue to extend our ministry throughout the country by coordinating out itinerary. Please pray for her and her recent marriage! To have us speak at your church, conference or LWML group, please call Izabela at 636-326-4040 ext. 2.

DAVID I first met David, a Jewish believer in Jesus, in 2004. He was being held in jail in St. Louis awaiting trial. He was there for almost five years before his trial took place. We met weekly for prayer, Bible study and encouragement. Eventually he said that he really wanted to join our ministry. David lost at trial and is currently in the ERDCC in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Following my presentation in Macon, Missouri a few weeks ago, I drove to Bonne Terre, about 3 1/2 hours away. We speak regularly by phone, but I wanted to pay a surprise visit David in person. I arrived about 3:30 pm and was told that there were no tables available, I had to wait until one became free. Then I had to wait until after the count. I finally got in about 5:00 and we had only 90 minutes to share. But it was great to see how the Lord continues to use him right where he is. As of this writing, David has led 108 people to saving faith in Jesus. He is starting studies towards a doctorate from a school which works with inmates. We covet your prayers for David as he serves his time and serves the Lord. Your support at this Thanksgiving time counts for so very much as we move forward in our 21st year. Nancy and I now live in Georgetown, Texas. But our administrative center is in Brentwood, Tennesse led by Barbara Cairns and Chris Burnett. Please pray for them too! Our web link is for on-line support: http://www.appleofhiseye.org/support/give If you have questions about how you might give by credit card or monthly giving, please call Chris at 615-376-7861 Please pray for Micha, our son, who is battling Huntington s Disease and for his wife, Leah and children, Selah & Tikva. I found this card recently and was blessed by it, reminding us of better days gone by. - sc Please help us reach our 2016 goal of $250,000. Each gift is a vote of confidence for all of us who serve. Thank you for your support! Please, as always, support YOUR local church first! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

PLEASE PRAY FOR US AND WITH US! For the peace of Jerusalem that they might come to know the Prince of Peace - Jesus - the Messiah. For the Apple of His Eye Board meeting November 21st. For continued healing for Nancy from knee replacement. For David as he serves his time and serves the Lord in prison. For Izabela as she coordinates our national schedule. For Debby Wilson as she communicates with our supporters and prays for and with them. For our partners in Israel, especially Rev. Bradley Long, at Immanuel Ministries and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joffa. For Micha Cohen as he battles Huntington Disease and especially for his wife, Leah and children Tikvah & Selah. For our dear friend, Kevin V. as his wife bravely battles health issues. For the pastors of the LCMS that they remain firm in faith and bold in preaching the Gospel. For our elected leaders whom God has placed in positions of authority that they would led with wisdom and serve their constituents well. For those who underwrite our mission that they would be blessed in their support and encouraged to see the word of the Lord go out to those who are facing a Christ-less eternity. Psalm 69:13-14 But I pray to you, O LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.
