Beloved Parishioners and Guests, Congratulations to the Yorkton Knights of Columbus District that is graciously and happily hosting the State Convention of the SK Knights of Columbus! Truly it is wonderful to acknowledge and give thanks for all the wonderful charitable Christian work that the 2 million dedicated Knights belonging to 15,000 Councils around the world so generously FROM THE PASTOR S DESK accomplish. Last year alone they donated over $175 million and 75 million hours of charitable work! That's impressive! God bless! Ah! St. Mary's Parish also has the joy of welcoming 7 beautiful 'little ones' who are celebrating the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist - that means all of us are receiving Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time with these precious children. We warmly thank the parents for bringing the children for all the preparation classes and esp., we sincerely express our heartfelt gratitude to Diane Stadnyk for great devotion and love as she spiritually prepared the children for this wonderful celebration! God bless! The colourful insert in the bulletin reminds us to be extra generous for the Annual Eparchial Appeal. Please do read it and become more informed about the various special religious programs and ministries that the Saskatoon Eparchy has been organizing and promoting and each Appeal makes them more possible and effective. Please do pray over what amount you wish to donate and we, as your Pastors, encourage you to be most generous. Let us as a parish strive to fulfill our financial commitment! Because Fr. Ray and I must serve a greater district (Melville, Ituna and their extra country parishes), the Parish Council has agreed to extend our Yorkton Summer Liturgy Schedule commencing on the first Sunday of June until the last Sunday in September. Liturgy will continue to be celebrated at and there will be only one Liturgy on Sunday at 10:00 am. Please mark your calendars in advance... God willing, we will be able to schedule more Liturgies and cemetery blessings in more country parishes... And on another note, yes, we happily will be introducing a new giving program in the month of May PAG - Pre-Authorized Giving that hopefully will strengthen the financial support in the parish. Future bulletins will provide positive explanations and a presentation will be made at all the Liturgies. Many Protestant and Catholic churches are discovering the greater benefits for their parishioners and their parishes...
