Balshala registrations for the year 2015-2016 will begin Sunday August 9th at 10.30 am in the cultural center and continue until the end of August. Balshala is open to children of HTS members grade levels Pre-K through 7th. 8th graders will have the option of being in Balshala or transitioning into the youth group. More information about registration will be posted on the balshala website: www.balshala.com. Balshala classes will commence on Sunday, 13 th September 2015. Representatives of many faiths from CSRA (Christianity, Jewish, Islam, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Bahai, BrahmaKumaris, Hindu...) will participate in the program. All are invited to join in. Spiritual Lecture by Koti Sreekrishna Koti Sreekrishna is an eminent biochemist and worked as a research fellow with the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Kentucky. After working with Phillips Petroleum Company and Marion Merrel Dow, he is currently a senior scientist in the Global Biotechnology division at the Procter & Gamble Company. In addition to his accomplishments in biotechnology, Dr. Sreekrishna is interested in philosophy, interreligious dialogue, and studying the Hindu scriptures. He has authored 3 books on Bhagavadgita (The Complete Bhagavad Gita, The New Bhagavad Gita and The Easy Bhagavad Gita). He has previously authored a translation of the Purusha Suktam, a Hindu creation theme. He has served in the executive council of Hindu Society of Greater Cincinnati (HSGC) for several years and contributes articles to HSGC Temple magazine. INDIA DAY CELEBRATIONS AUGUST 22, 2015, MAXWELL AUDITORIUM, GA The marquee event of IACA, India Day 2015 will be held at Maxwell Auditorium on 22nd August 2015 at 6.30pm. The theme for this year is Indian Film Industry showcasing Various Film Industries across various states and it s diverse, historic, vibrant and colorful culture. ARTS IN THE HEART OF AUGUSTA (SEPTEMBER 18 20, 2015) Venue: Augusta Commons Friday 5-9pm Saturday 11 am -9 pm Sunday 12 noon - 7pm The widely anticipated annual event that boasts over 17 countries displaying their cuisines, art and culture is celebrated this year from September 18-20, 2015 at the Augusta Commons, and is sponsored by the Greater Augusta Arts Council. Indian pavilion, that has participated for over several years and won multiple accolades, is sponsored by the HTS. Volunteers are needed in every phase, from setting up of tents, cooking, serving and Mehndi. Committees are being formed for the successful execution of this event. To make this a grand success, HTS is also looking for donations both in kind and monetary. Please call the following people if you are interested in volunteering or donating time and/or money for this event: There is an entrance fee of $10.00 at the venue.
