He was a noble and just king and was loved by all his subjects. He fought many wars and battles to protect his kingdom. After one such battle King Arthur was wounded badly and knew that his end was near. All his knights were killed except for Sir Bedivere. King Arthur took out his famous sword Excalibur out of its sheath and asked the knight to throw it into the lake. The knight took the sword and looked at it. There were precious stones on its hilt and it shone in the moonlight. Sir Bedivere wept for the king and threw the sword into the lake. A hand rose out of the water and took the sword. A1.
