[Al-Qur an: Surah Al-Ma un 107: 1-3] The current worldwide economic crisis is putting tremendous pressure on people in under-developed countries who were already struggling with poverty to begin with. Many are at a point where they can hardly feed their children even once a day. More and more people are resorting to suicide or other desperate acts due to their suffering. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, The most excellent sadaqah consists in your satisfying a hungry stomach. (Tirmidhi #1946) Every year Hidaya Foundation strives to provide one million meals throughout the world to such people in extreme poverty and in dire need.
