Revelation Chapter One What does the word Revelation mean? The English word Revelation comes from the word of the book in Greek. That word is apokalypsis, which means the unveiling of something previously unrevealed. Revelation Directions for the above booklet. Cut out booklet and fold in half. Write inside and glue into lapbook. Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him (Jesus), to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified (made it known) it by his angel unto his servant John:

Revelation 1:1 This is the revelation of who? Which God gave unto Jesus to shew unto his servants what? And he (Jesus) sent and signified it by his what? Unto his servant who? Cut out strips and stack with cover on top and staple on the left and glue into lapbook. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Who will be blessed in Revelation 1:3? What is at hand in Revelation 1:3? Directions for the above booklet. Cut out booklet and cut on dotted line. Cut out pocket and fold tabs back and and glue into lapbook. When dry add cards. Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him (Jesus) that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him (Jesus) be glory and dominion (strength, power, might) for ever and ever. Amen.

In Revelation 1:5, it says this is also from Jesus Christ who is what three things? 1 2 3 In the next part of Revelation 1:5 and 1:6, Jesus did three things for us. What are they? 1 2 3 In the last part of Revelation 1:6, what two things belong to Jesus forever and ever? 1 2

Directions for the above booklets. Cut out booklets, cut on dotted lines. Fold in half. Write one item under each flap and glue into lapbook. Look at what Revelation 1:7 says about Jesus' return. Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds (Daniel 7:13); and every eye shall see him (Matthew 24:30), and they also which pierced him (Zechariah 12:10): and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him (Zechariah 12:11). Even so, Amen. Zechariah 12:11 In that day shall There be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Because of its desolate and barren nature, Patmos was used by the Romans as a place to banish criminals, who were forced to work at hard labor in the mines and quarries of the island. Because Christians were regarded as criminals by the Roman emperor Domitian (ruled A.D. 81-96), the apostle John probably suffered from harsh treatment during his exile on Patmos. (Modern Day Turkey) Cut out the map and glue it into your lapbook. Below: Color the picture of John at Patmos and glue it into your lapbook.
