WHY REPENTANCE Repentance is a time when we draw near to God, confess our sins and turn towards Him. Repentance is not remorse alone but it is a time to recognise that we are not walking in righteousness. We want to move forward in this season to pray for our nation and to live a blameless life (not sinless) so that God can turn His face towards us and heal our land. Repentance opens the door for the Blood of Jesus to forgive and cleanse us and set us free from guilt and condemnation. Repentance is powerful because it invites God s presence in our lives and stops Satan in his devious plans to steal kill and destroy. WHAT HAPPENS IN REPENTANCE 1 John 1:9 (NIV) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Acts 3:19-20 19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. 2 Chronicles 7:14 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 1. CONFESS = homologos = to agree with God s word. When we confess our sins we are saying that what God calls sin is sin whether we think it is or not. 2. REPENT = metanoeo = a change of mind; to amend with abhorrence of one s sins. 3. TURN TO GOD = epistrepho = converted, not just a change of mind but a RETURN to God. To turn to love God, love His ways and love righteousness. 1 Chron 7:14 calls it turning from our wicked ways. 4. YOUR SINS ARE WIPED AWAY = exaleipho obliterated, blotted out, to anoint and wash in every part. Not only are our sins totally obliterated but there is a cleansing of hearts and mind from all unrighteousness. A new spirit and a new heart. 5. TIMES OF REFRESHING and restoration comes from the presence of the Lord. 6. HEALING for families and a release from generational curses and healing for the land.

Isaiah 59:1-2 ; 12-14 (NIV) Sin, Confession and Redemption 1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. 12 For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities: 13 rebellion and treachery against the Lord, turning our backs on our God, inciting revolt and oppression, uttering lies our hearts have conceived. 14 So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Let us pray this over ourselves as we spend this 90 days in repentance. Colossians 1: 9-14 9 We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. HOW WILL WE PRAY FROM 19 JUN - 16 SEP 2018 Every week we will set a theme for us to repent and it will be divided into 3 sections: Personal repentance Repentance on behalf of our families and allowing for generational blessings to come (cleansing of bloodline iniquities or generational sins) Repentance on behalf of our nation/communities You can decide for each week how many days you want to devote to personal repentance and how many days to Families and National repentance. In both Family and National repentance we are standing in the gap on their behalf. It is commonly called identification repentance.

Identification repentance is when we take on the sin of our families and of our community and nation as our own. In so doing we stand in the gap on behalf of our families and nation and seek God s grace on behalf of our families and communities and nation. When we stand in identification for the sins of families or for our land we repent as if we have committed these sins. This remove the judgemental spirit from us allows Christ cleansing blood to redeem us from curses over our families, our communities and our nation. After you have prayed for repentance it is important that we end our prayer time by prayers of thanksgiving and seeking the Blood of Jesus to cleanse, forgive and allow Holy Spirit to teach us how to speak life and healing into ourselves, our families and our nation. God s main aim is restoration. Example of Closing Prayer Father Creator of Heaven and Earth, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ I thank you for your great love and mercy that you have lavished on us through our Lord Jesus Christ. I stand here on behalf of my family and my nation to thank you for choosing us before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in your sight. In love you predestined us to be adopted us as your sons and daughters. We thank you that through the blood of Jesus Christ we (our families, our nation) have redemption and forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of your grace. Forgive us, cleanse us, and Restore us to live out your purpose in our lives (in our families, our nation). Create in me a new heart and a new spirit (also create in our nation a new heart and a new spirit) to live in accordance with your ways. Your ways are truly higher than our ways and your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We submit you and we bless you and give thanks to You in the glorious Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Week 1 Week 2 19 JUN - 25 JUN 26 JUN - 2 JUL Sin of Rebellion vs Obedience and Submission 1 Samuel 15:22-23 22 Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king. Jeremiah 5:23-24 23 But my people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned away and abandoned me. 24 They do not say from the heart, Let us live in awe of the Lord our God, for he gives us rain each spring and fall, assuring us of a harvest when the time is right. Hebrews 3:7-8 (NIV) 7 Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,... Sin of Idolatry and Witchcraft Deuteronomy 5:7-9 7 You shall have no other gods before me. 8 You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Week 2 (continued) 26 JUN - 2 JUL Romans 1:21-25 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. Amen. Ephesians 5:5 5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Week 3 3 JUL - 9 JUL Immorality (and Breakdown of Marriage Covenant) 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Week 3 (continued) 3 JUL - 9 JUL Ephesians 5:3-5 3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God s people. 4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. 5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Matt 19:3-6 3 Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason? 4 Haven t you read, he replied, that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, 5 and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. Week 4 10 JUL - 16 JUL Honouring Our Father and Mother/ Honor Those In Authority Ephesians 6:1-3 (NIV) 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise 3 so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

Week 4 (continued) 10 JUL - 16 JUL Ezekiel 22: 7 7 In you they have treated father and mother with contempt 1 Timothy 2:1-3 1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, Week 5 17 JUL - 23 JUL Bloodshed (including sin of abortions, murder, violence and ritual bloodshed) Ezekiel 22:3-4, 6 3 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood in her midst and defiles herself by making idols, 4 you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed and have become defiled by the idols you have made. 6 See how each of the princes of Israel who are in you uses his power to shed blood. Ezekiel 22:12 12 In you are people who accept bribes to shed blood; you take interest and make a profit from the poor. You extort unjust gain from your neighbors. And you have forgotten me, declares the Sovereign Lord. Jeremiah 22:3 3 This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

Week 5 (continued) 17 JUL - 23 JUL Matthew 26:52 52 Put your sword back in its place, Jesus said to him, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Numbers 35:23 23 or, without seeing them, drops on them a stone heavy enough to kill them, and they die, then since that other person was not an enemy and no harm was intended, Week 6 24 JUL - 30 JUL Covetousness, Greed vs Contentment 1 Timothy 6:6-10 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. James 4:1-3 (NIV) 1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. Jeremiah 22:3 15 Then he said to them, Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.

Week 7 31 JUL - 6 AUG Unforgiveness, Revenge, Offenses Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Romans 12:17-19 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God s wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. Week 8 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 7 AUG - 13 AUG Pride/Arrogance vs Humility and Contriteness 1 Peter 5:5-6 5 God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Psalm 10:2-4 2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. 3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. 4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

Week 9 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 14 AUG - 20 AUG Lies and Deception vs Loving the Truth Jeremiah 17:9-10 9 The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? 10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. Psalm 139:23-24 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Proverbs 12:22 22 The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. Psalm 101:7 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. 1 John 1:5-8 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Week 10 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 21 AUG - 27 AUG Dissension and Divisions vs Unity and Harmony Proverbs 6: 16-19 16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up dissension among brothers. Ephesians 4:2-3 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Read Matthew 18:15-20 19 Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. Week 11 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 28 AUG - 3 SEP Mistreatment of the Poor, Marginalized and Aliens and Injustice Proverbs 14:31 31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Ezekiel 22: 29 29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice.

Week 11 (continued) 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 28 AUG - 3 SEP Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Week 12 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 4 SEP - 10 SEP Prayerlessness vs Seeking the Lord Isaiah 55:6-7 6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; Call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. Luke 11:9-13 9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 1 Peter 5:8 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Week 13 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 11 SEP - 16 SEP Love the Lord Your God and Your Neighbour As Yourself Deuteronomy 6:3-9 3 Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you. 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Luke 10: 25-36 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind ; and, Love your neighbour as yourself. John 13:34-35 34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Week 13 (continued) 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting 11 SEP - 16 SEP 1 Corinthians 13 1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

Cleansing From Iniquities: by Pr James Kawalya Almighty God, I plead the blood of Jesus upon my entire bloodline, do not allow our sins, transgressions and iniquity to stop the destiny written for us in the books of heaven. Let the blood of Jesus that grant you the legal right to forgive and bless, speak on my behalf. I humble myself before the Living God and ask that every sin, transgression and iniquity be washed away by the precious blood of the Lamb of God. Almighty God, I consecrate to Your Holy Name, every seed of my bloodline. I declare it blessed, full of Your eternal purpose and covered by the blood of Jesus. I surrender our lives to you to accomplish all we were created to do. We receive Your DNA with all the spiritual inheritance in Your blood. In the name of Jesus, Amen. Cleansing From Idols: Exodus 20:1-5 Almighty God, Father of all creation, the only true God, I renounce the idol of my bloodline and my mother s bloodline. I renounce its worship and its demands. In the name of Jesus, I tear it down from its seat of authority and cast it out from all households, pedestals and places of pre-eminence. I decree that the demon spirit of this idol will never rule over people in my bloodline anymore. I invite the Hosts of God Almighty to protect and preserve every living member of my bloodline. Now I call upon fire in the Spirit to completely burn this idol and its demon. Deuteronomy 7:25,26

Cleansing From Sexual Perversion: Almighty God, on my behalf and on behalf of my ancestors and my descendants, I humble my heart, seeking Your mercy and grace. I confess the sin of sexual perversion as evil and wickedness. I renounce and condemn adultery, fornication, homosexuality, ritual sex, rape, pornography and all acts of sexual immorality. I ask for the complete healing and deliverance of all victims of sexual perversion in my bloodline. I cast out any memory, every seed, every desire causing lust in my entire bloodline. I receive the cleansing of the soul, mind, spirit and blood by the blood of Jesus Christ. Now, I loose myself and my bloodline from the demon of Sodom, lust, Jezebel, Babylon and all their ruling spirits. I ask You, Father to remove the curse and bless us with purity of heart, eyes, mind and soul in the name of Jesus Christ.
