Take time to smell the flowers, God has watered them, you know, With a sudden, soft warm shower that Causes them to grow. Look up and watch the birds go by, He guides them in their flight, And the stars are touched by the Master s brush To brighten up each night. We re reminded each and every hour as We journey down life s road, Of the price he paid on Calvary And we re ready to meet Him, Both young and old! Have a blessed October! Recent Events Annual Firefighters & First Responders Cookout September 9th It was our honor and privilege to host our annual cookout for the local firefighters and first responders. The dietary staff cooked hot dogs and hamburgers. At 1:00 pm, we had the releasing of the dove balloons. Again, we can t thank them enough for all they do. Keeping Connected with Music Day September 15th The day started off with The New Armuchee Singers, Jay Crider, and Elvis as our special guest. When Elvis took the stage all of the ladies screamed and wanted to hear their favorite songs. By the time the day was over, I don t know who was the most tired Elvis or the residents (or our staff!). Professional Volunteer Breakfast September 14th Riverwood Senior Living hosted a breakfast for all of our volunteers as a special thank you to agencies and individuals who participate in the care of our residents. Rome City Commissioner, Evie McNiece read the opening proclamation. Katie Hicks entertained us with her beautiful piano music selections. We really do appreciate everyone who came by to say hello and enjoy a delicious breakfast, as well as the time and unique talents they share with us here at Riverwood all year long. Spa & Smoothie Day September 16th Pam Graves, from Homestead Hospice, pampered our residents and friends with an extra flare. She made a special blend of smoothies for our residents. Our care staff did hand massages and fancy nail polishing. Dale Norman also came to entertain. 1 October 2016 Newsletter Riverwood Senior Living Community 2

Community Spotlight Just for Fun Rev. Scott Lambert The leaves are beginning to turn in areas and are beautiful. I have to admit, I did not think they would turn nor be as beautiful as they are due to the lack of rain we have had over the summer. That got me to thinking about God s love for us. In spite of our sins, when it looks like there is no hope for us, God says, I love you and can forgive you, and when we accept His love and forgiveness He makes us beautiful. May you all be encouraged that God didn t send his son Jesus to condemn us, but to forgive us. John 3:17 I pray you all have an awesome October. Happy fall!
