Two Important Questions 1. Who is Jesus? (1 John 4:1-3) Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
Two Important Questions 1. Who is Jesus? 2. Who is man? (Eph 2:8-9) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Two Truths About the Unsaved 1. Know the person of God in creation (Rom 1:18-21) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Two Truths About the Unsaved 1. Know the person of God in creation 2. Know the character of God in conscience (Rom 2:14-15) For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them.
Four Truths About the Saved 1. We must be bold (Phil 1:14) And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
Four Truths About the Saved 1. We must be bold 2. We must be beautiful (Rom 10:15) And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
Four Truths About the Saved 1. We must be bold 2. We must be beautiful 3. We must be prepared (1 Pet 3:15-16) But in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Four Truths About the Saved 1. We must be bold 2. We must be beautiful 3. We must be prepared 4. We must be prayerful (1 Thess 5:17) Pray without ceasing.
