Our second CMC Gathering is hosted by Peace Presbyterian Church, 3203 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, (910) 488-3211. We give thanks to Rev. Debra Patterson (TS), the Session and congregation for hosting us from 5 counties and over 60 churches! We appreciate the CMC Steering Team for planning and executing the activities! During this gathering, we will conduct the following business: elect three members to fill three vacancies on the CMC Steering Team; elect the 2017 moderator and vice moderator; receive action items from the Central Commission on Ministry and do other business as needed. We will also have special breakout sessions for children, choir members and those who love to sing, sessional records, congregation vitality conversations based upon size of church membership, and officer training highlighting the Amendments to the Book of Order. Our goal is to continue to focus on the vision and mission of the Presbytery s provocative proposal sharing together. Everyone planning to attend should register online by January 18, 2017, Noon. You will find the registration form, initial agenda for the gathering and other information on the Presbytery s website: www.presbycc.org. You will also find the Guidelines for a First Time Elder Commissioner and a form for requesting to be excused. From your computer, you may print necessary pages for the meeting. We will have a worship service with special guest group, HASM Community Choir (Hymns, Anthems, and Sacred Music), a non-profit ecumenical choir created to preserve the integrity of hymns, anthems, sacred and patriotic music. Worship offering will go half to HASM and half to W. H. Knuckles Elementary School in Lumberton, Robeson County, NC to show support to them as they are still recovering from Hurricane Matthew. Because of the flooding, the kindergarten building and kitchen cannot be used at this time. We will have a special lunch that includes delicious church entries to the Chili Cook-Off and the Homemade Baked Goods competitions. The top three winners of each competition will receive bragging rights and cash prizes that will be directly donated to their designated church mission. The cost for lunch is $5.00 per person, but free to children under age 6 years old, special guests, and volunteers. The CMC Winter Gathering begins with Registration at 8:30 AM and it will end by 2:30 PM. Please print your name in the appropriate notebook on the table. There will be three sign-in stations: 1) Teaching Elders and CREs, 2) Ruling Elders/Commissioners who will register under their church name and Committee Chairs, and 3) Visitors and Church Educators. Only commissioned attendees with badges can vote. Other attendees will receive the stick-on name tag. Lunch tickets will be sold/paid for at a separate table.
