Narratives Subject: Type Date Time Author Approving Officer Initial Report 05/19/2014 0046 WILSON, BRAD 2081, 1538 Officers were dispatched to the Venice Road Baptist Church reference suspicious vehicle complaint. Dispatch advised three trucks had been back by the church and were now leaving. Upon arrival, we spoke with Billy Hatfield, the pastor of the church. Billy stated there had been three trucks who had been behind the church and drove down the driveway. The trucks left muddy tire tracks as they left. Billy was upset because the church has been broken into before. He also stated that on 5-16- 14, someone had been driving a truck around the pond which is on property adjacent to the church. He was under the impression the owner of the land on which the pond sits was going to put a fence around it. The truck from 5-16-14 had been driving through the mud, and this is an ongoing problem. While speaking with Billy, we could see muddy tire tracks on the driveway. Billy stated the first vehicle was a Ford F150 which had a red or dark red color, almost a rust color. The F150 did not have a tailgate and drove west on Venice Rd. He thought it might belong in one of the trailer parks. Billy then stated the other two vehicles were Chevy's and they went east on Venice Rd. Billy was sure that one was red. The other appeared to be a dark color. We went to the back of the church. Muddy tire tracks could be seen in the parking lot. Also visible were two tire tracks through the grass at the southwest corner of the property. These tracks led to the area of the pond. We checked the trailer park with negative results. After not being able to locate the F150, we started to check eastbound on Venice Rd. Several pieces of mud could be seen on the pavement every so often. We followed the mud east on Venice Rd., over the overpass, and onto the Sanford Curve. We continued on W. Perkins Ave. As we drove past Burger King, we could see a large mud covered truck in the drive through. Contact was made with GFK2611, a 1976 GMC truck, which was covered in mud. I spoke with the driver, and he was identified as Michael Andrews. I advised him of the complaint. I also told him that I was certain that he had been on Venice Rd. at the church. Michael initially denied this, stating he had been east of Norwalk near Hartland Center Rd. at a place that allows such activity. I advised him the mud on the truck was too fresh for him to have just come from Norwalk. I also advised him there was a mud trail left in the road going from Venice Rd. to the W. Perkins Ave. area. Michael then admitted that he had been behind the church. He stated he did not know who the property belonged to. He further stated he has always went back there and he was there yesterday as well. When we asked him who was with him, he stated "I don't want to be a snitch, but it's kinda obvious." This was in reference to the red Chevy Silverado that was parked two parking spaces away from him. While the truck was covered in mud, it appeared the actual color is a tan.

Contact was made with that vehicle, Ohio Reg. GCW2268. The driver was identified as Joshua Ferguson. I also noticed there was fresh mud along the bottom of the truck. When I confronted Joshua about this, he claimed this happened at Norwalk Raceway Park (Summit Motorsports Park). I advised him that I did not believe the owners would allow such activity. He then stated the was driving the truck in the Norwalk area. I told him I did not believe this was true because the mud was too fresh. He stated the mud was still wet because of the rain. Both Joshua and Michael were advised that should Billy wish to pursue charges over the incident, they would be notified of forthcoming charges. Photographs were taken of both vehicles. Nobody would divulge the owner of the F150's name. We went back to speak with Billy about the incident. I showed Billy the photographs of the trucks from Burger King, and he confirmed those were the trucks he saw on the property. We then photographed the tire tracks and the parking lot. I advised Billy to check the property when it was daylight to see if there was any other damage. On 5-18-14, I went back to the church to speak with Billy again. I took more photographs of the ruts in the grass and the mud on the pavement. I had already prepared charges for Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Damaging. Billy signed the charges. He was advised that I would contact Joshua and Michael to let them know about their charges. Charges were placed with the OIC for processing. Attempts will be made to contact Joshua and Michael to let them know to turn themselves in. Officer B. Wilson Page: 6 of 8

Narratives Subject: Supplement Type Date Time Author Approving Officer Supplement 05/20/2014 0229 WILSON, BRAD CAMPBELL, MICHAEL H 2081 Contact was made with Joshua Ferguson reference the criminal charges filed against him. Joshua agreed to turn himself in. I met with Joshua and he was served with copies of his charges. Joshua signed a recognizance bond and was released. It should be noted that Joshua still claimed he was not involved in the incident. He did state that he was willing to help repair the damage to the property because it was a church. I attempted to contact Michael Andrews, however, he did not answer his phone. A message was left for him to turn himself in on his charges.
