Basic Bible Questions #1 1. What do we mean when we say that the Bible is "inspired?" Read: 2 Peter 1:20-21 (Matthew 10:19-20; 2 Timothy 3:16-17) According to this Scripture: Were the writers of the Scriptures moved by anything other than their own wills? 2. Just how complete and final was the revelation that was made to the apostles in the first century? Read: John 16:13 According to this Scripture: Did Jesus say how much of the truth the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of truth would guide the apostles into? How much? Read: 2 Peter 1:3 According to this Scripture: How much of that pertaining to life and godliness has been given to us by God's divine power? Page 2
3. If all truth concerning salvation was revealed to the apostles in the first century, can we be certain that we still have all of that truth today? Is "the word of the Lord" the same as the "glad tidings" or "gospel" preached by the apostles? 4. Do men still live under Old Testament law today? Was that to which they were added a man made denomination? If so, which one? If we today do just what these 3,000 did, will we be just what they were? If not, why not? 2.
