MINISTRY STAFF We are glad you are here: Members and guests, please write your name in the Welcome to Worship folders at the end of the pews so we can more faithfully serve you and get to know you by name. A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 4 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. The Church Council and ALL Board members will meet on Tuesday, July 10 for an annual planning meeting. It will begin with a light supper at 6 pm in the Emmaus Room. Please pass the word so that all board members know they are invited and their input is important and valuable. Pre-Teen Youth Cookout is this Wednesday (7/11/18) The 5 th /6 th graders are gathering for a summer cookout at the Adams house this Wednesday, July 11 th from 6-8pm. There is no cost! Jr. Youth go to DEFY Hickory this Wednesday (7/11/18) The 7 th /8 th graders will be attending DEFY in Hickory on Wednesday, July 11 th from 5-9pm. The cost is $12.00 for 90 minutes of jump time including socks.. plus dinner money @ Chic-Fil-A. Did you know we had over 29 youth attend VBS this year? Thanks for your participation and leadership! DCE Chris L. Henze Youth Minister The Sr. Youth Council is back from our Leadership Retreat in TN. Highlights include white-water rafting on the Ocoee River where the 1996 Summer Olympics competed. Motor-boat driving & water skiing were new events for many of us. Devotions with the youth from Good Shepherd Lutheran Youth in their church was unique. Rope-swing, grilling, laughter and fellowship were also part of our week. We were able to ride The Incline (1 of the steepest railways in the world). The spiritual highlight was having worship in the boat while bobbing on the TN River under the stars and moon at 12am. We didn t want to come home because of the closeness and positive interaction. Thank you God for this wonderful opportunity!

LWML weekend at Camp Linn Haven is August 17 th -19 th. The Dean will be Rev. John Drosendahl and theme for the weekend is Upon This Rock I Will Build My Church. There will be no 10:45 Children's Church during June or July. See you in August. Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or an elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
PrimeTimers meet this Monday at Four Peas in a Pod Restaurant for our monthly meeting. Meet at 11:30AM for lunch and a short business meeting. The restaurant is located across from Bo jangles at Business 321 and Conover Blvd. We still have the month of October to plan an event for, so bring your ideas to the meeting Monday. We have another concert by "Imperfect But Forgiven" group from the Prison scheduled for September 19th, at 9:00AM. So plan to attend that event. More Info to follow at a later date.
