(He had) given us death ***** While entering bathroom / toilet ***** ي إ ن ع ذ ب ك with You seek refuge Verily, I after م ن خب ا ئ ث ال خ ب ث w ال the foul male and female devils / evil and all malicious things. ***** When coming out of bathroom / toilet ***** غ ف رانك ال حم د ه ب ال ذ ي ذ removed who for Allah All praise (is) from (, I ask) Your forgiveness. ي عن الا ذى w عافان ي and kept me in health. suffering / injurious things / pollution ***** At the time of donning a new garment ***** ال حم د الله ال ذ ي كس ان ي ه ذا و رz قن ي ه and provided me (with) it clothed me (with) this to Allah Who from me م ن غي ر و لا ي م ن ح ل ق و ة any might/ strength. [and] nor from me any power ***** At the beginning of meal ***** or if one forgets to say in the ب س م االله In the name (of) Allah start, then ***** At the end of meal ***** (from) without אخ ره و ف ي w ل ه and its end. in its beginning ال حم د ط عمنا ال ذ ي و سقانا and gave us to drink fed us Who to Allah و جعلنا م ن ال م س ل م ي ن the Muslims. from (among) and made us
***** Leaving house ***** تو ت على االله لا ح ل There is no strength ع ذ ك seek refuge with You upon Allah. I trusted /relied و لا ق ة إ لا االله. ي الله م إ ن I truly except with Allah. and no power ن ض ل و ضل z ل و z ل و or I am made to slip or I slip or be astrayed (by others); lest I go astray, ظ ل م و م ظ ل و و ج هل و ج هل عل ي or (anyone) should act foolishly with me. ك س ئل beg of You or I act foolishly or I be wronged; ***** When Entering house ***** ي إ ن Verily I or I do wrong خي ر ال م ل ج خي ر و ال مخ ر ج (my) going out. the good (of) and (my) entrance, the good (of) w لج نا و س م االله خرج نا we came out And in the name of Allah we entered; w على االله رب نا تو نا we did resign (trust & depend). our Lord ***** While Entering Mosque ***** and on Allah, w الص ة و الس لا م ع لى رس ل االله (be) upon the Messenger of Allah. and peace And Blessings In the name (of) Allah; الله م اف ت ح ب ا ب ي ل رح مت ك Your mercy. the gates (of) for me! Open ***** When Coming forth from the Mosque ***** ك ي إ ن س ئل م ن فض ل ك from Your bounty. ask You I truly
و ***** When getting up from a group discussion / company ***** س ب حانك الله م وب حم د ك ش هد ن إ ه لا there is no deity I witness that and with Your praise, ; Glory be to You إ لا ن ت س تغ ف ر ك و ت ب إ لي ك to You. and I turn in repentence I seek Your forgiveness ***** When Riding ***** but You. س ب حان ال ذ ي سخ ر لنا ه ذا w ما ك ن ا while we were not for us this (ride) made subservient Glory be to (Him) Who له م ق ن ي ن و إ ن ا إ لى ر نا ل ب ن لم ن ق indeed are to return. to our Lord and verily we able to control it; ***** Said at the end of speech / meeting / activity ***** אخ ر دع انا و ن ال حم د all praise & thanksgiving م ي ن رب ال عال The Lord of the universe that Our concluding supplication (is) belong to Allah, ***** Said upon rising / retiring and after every Salah ***** س تغ ف ر االله ال ذ ي لا إ ه there is no deity The One, (for whom) I seek the forgive-ness of Allah إ لا ه و ال ح ي ال قي و م The Sustainer and The Protector, The Ever Living و ت ب إ لي ه to Him. and I turn in repentance ***** Prayers on visiting the sick ***** except Him ه ب ذ با س ال رب الن ا س اش ف and heal! O Lord (of) mankind, this harm / ailment Remove ن ت الش اف ي لا ش فا ء إ لا except Healing (There is) no the healer. You (are) ش فا ء ك ش فا ء لا غاد ر سقم ا any sickness. (that will) not leave behind A healing Your healing.
***** Prayers on visiting the sick ***** س ئل االله ال عظ ي م رب ال عر ش ن ش ف ي ك to cure you. Lord of the throne Allah, the Supreme, I ask ***** After hearing bad news ***** إ ن ا و إ ن ا إ لي ه unto Him and Verily! We are for Allah Verily! We راج ع ن الله م جر ن ي ف ي م ص ي بت ي in my affliction reward me, (are) to return. و اخ ل ف ل ي خي ر ا م ن ها than this (affliction). (with something) better (for) me ***** On visiting the graves ***** and requite الس لا م علي ك م ب و ر ق يا ه ل ال يغ ف ر االله لنا و لك م us and you. May Allah forgive O dwellers of these graves! Peace (be) on you, ن ت م سل ف نا و ح ن ر ب ا لا ث (are) at your heels. نس تع ي ن ه we ask for His aid and we (are) our forerunners ***** Start of Friday prayers ***** إ ن ال حم د due to Allah, You Verily, All praise and thanksgiving (are) w نس تغ ف ر ه w نع ذ االله and we seek refuge with Allah and we beseech forgiveness from Him م ن ش ر و ر س نا ن ف من ه د ه االله فلا م ض ل له no one can lead him astray; Whosoever Allah guides Our selves against the evils (of) w من ي ض ل ل ه فلا هاد ي له no one can put him on the straight path He deflects, ***** Common sayings ***** and whomsoever ما شا ء االله ال حم د All praises & thanks-giving are due to Allah In response to that, one should say: As Allah wills ج اك االله خي ر ا w ج اك & reward you (the same) May Allah reward you with good
و إ ن شا ء االله بارك االله ف ي ك في مان االله May you be in the protection of Allah May Allah give bless you. نع ذ االله س تغ ف ر االله I seek forgiveness from Allah ***** Sayyidul Istighfar ***** If Allah wills We seek refuge with Allah ن ت ر ي لا إ ه إ لا ن ت except You There is no deity. my Lord. You (are) تن ي خلق و نا عب د ك و نا عه د ك ع لى faithful to the pledge (of devotion) And I (am) and I am your slave. و w ع د ك ما اس تطع ت ع ذ ب ك with You I seek refuge to the best of my capability. You created me and promise which I have given to You م ن شر ما صنع ت I did (of my sins) that which against the evil (fearful consequences) of ل ك ب ء ب ن ع مت ك ب ء ي ب ذن ب ي my sins. I confess and عل on me all Your bounties for You ف ر ل ي فاغ فا ن ه لا غ ف ر الذ ن ب إ لا ن ت except You. the sins None (can) forgive Verily ***** Before sleep ***** ب اس م ك م ت و ح يا and I live.
