Making It Right When Things Go Wrong The day starts great! Your mom made your favorite breakfast. You finished all your homework. You feel wonderful. Others may not be having a great day. Maybe they did not have any breakfast. They may feel all grumpy inside already. The day started all wrong. Share some kindness with a warm smile. See it make a difference. Spread forgiveness through the day. Enjoy the happiness it brings. God helped people in Bible times. He will help you when you belong to Him. That makes all the difference. Lesson 1 March 4, 2018 Primary Learner s Manual The Apple of God s Eye Songs of God s Love Psalms 17:7-9; 36:7; 63:3; 117:2; 119:76 David and other writers of the Psalms used their creative abilities to praise God for His loving-kindness. Israel s worship leaders sang or read the beautiful poetry in Temple and synagogue services. Their songs of God s love inspire God s people today to praise the Lord. Here are just a few of the glorious psalms as listed above. Though written thousands of years ago, can you see how they are still meaningful? Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings. From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord. Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. 5
The Bible says whoever offers praise glorifies God. You can do just that by choosing one of these praise ideas. 1. Write a letter filled with praise for God. Pretend you are writing to someone who has never heard of God s loving-kindness. 2. Make a poster by writing words describing God. Draw different styles of letters to fill this page with one or two word praises. 6 Lesson 1
