Sit OFFERING OFFERTORY OFFERTORY RESPONSE 10 MEAL God feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ WORD God speaks to us in scripture reading, preaching and song Sit THE FIRST READING: Exodus 20:12-16 12Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. 13You shall not murder. 14You shall not commit adultery. 15You shall not steal. 16You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. Word of God, word of life. Thanks be to God. 7

8 9 GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Halle, Halle, Hallelujah ELW 172 THE GOSPEL READING: Matthew 22:34-40 The holy gospel according to Saint Matthew the 22nd chapter. Glory to you, O Lord. 34When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, 35 and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest? 37 He said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. SERMON Pastor Erica Kennedy HYMN OF THE DAY Bless Now, O God, the Journey ELW 326 APOSTLES CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen. PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION Growing in faith and discipleship, we give thanks for God s merciful compassion as we pray for the church, the world, and all in need. After each petition: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer...especially, Mary Ann Michelsen Holly Michelsen Erin Ronald Lundstedt Alice Ekstrom Debbie Boisvert Family of Harriet Norris Roy & Edie Lundstedt Scott Straeffer Elaine Jelescheff Virginia De Petrillo Karen Laycano Anita Adams Katherine Sanroma Family of Tom Smith Ken & Genevieve Morash & family and all those we offer now either silently or aloud Gracious God, we lift to you these prayers and the prayers of our hearts, trusting in your everlasting love and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
