This is a great opportunity for the teens to put their faith in action with corporal works of mercy. It also an opportunity to grow in their faith as prayer and faith are important aspects of this mission trip. We are in still in need of volunteer adult chaperones to make this trip happen. If you are interested in being a chaperone, please contact Jack McCourt at 617-750-3141.
Please welcome! - July 14&15 Annual Mission Fr. Edward Okpu is with us this weekend from the Diocese of Bomadi, located in southern Nigeria. The Diocese is being shepherded by Bishop Hyacinth Egbebo, MSP. Given that the Catholic faith is thriving in this area, and the harvest to God s Kingdom is plentiful is great cause for joy. However, the economic situation of the people is deplorable. The people have no access to potable water, roads, hospitals, schools, and there is no electricity. There are little or no job opportunities in these rural areas. The people only depend on fishing and a little bit of farming with crude implements as their main source of livelihood. Worst still is that the rivers are quite polluted from crude oil exploitation activities. Most of the local population has their main source of drinking water from the polluted river. The church has made some effort at providing clean water for the local people to help save lives. Your financial help will help improve the quality of many lives. Thank you for your generosity. I will be away at Yellowstone Park with my father the weekend the Missionary is here. Blessings Fr. Martin 2018-2019 Faith Formation Registration has begun! We are looking for more religious education teachers. If you are a practicing Catholic, who attends mass each week, and would like to share your faith with our youth, and be a positive role model and catechist, please prayerfully consider being a religious education teacher / catechist. We will supply the materials needed. Volunteers Still Needed! I am very grateful to those who have stepped up and helped out in so many ways. Without the funds to hire a maintenance person, it is not possible for me to keep up with everything that needs to be done. Here are a few areas where I need your help on a regular basis: -Someone to clean the bathrooms in the MBS hall before and after an event and weekly during the religious education season. -Several people to adopt a garden space at the churches to keep on top of the weeding and watering. -Someone to vacuum the parish office about once a week. We are a volunteer based parish Please consider helping if you are not yet part of the team of volunteers. Blessings to all Fr. Martin Adopt a Garden I m looking for an individual or family to adopt each one of the small gardens around the Churches to take care of them. Please contact the office if you would like to help make a difference- plant/weed/water for the Lord! Depending on the number of registrations and teacher availability, we would like to expand our Sunday morning program grades 1-5 in both churches. Please Pray for Our Parish! That many people will return to the practice of the faith and discipleship of the Lord! Do you know someone who is homebound and would like Holy Communion brought to them? Please let us know by calling the office. 617-479-9200
