Transcription:

Psalm 145:1-3 (ESV) I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. Father, unsearchable is Your goodness, unfathomable is Your wisdom and grace. We extol You, we praise You, for the gifts You give us. We sing Your praises because You don't give us what we deserve; instead You fill us with love, comfort and protection. In response to Your goodness, we try to love our neighbors as ourselves. We try to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit those in prison. We recognize that it is only You who saves! Thank You for hearing our prayers. Thank You for accepting our worship. Thank You for loving us. On behalf of the caregivers, we ask You to renew their strength, give them new resolve, and provide them with rest. Please heal those who are ill and give comfort to those who mourn. Please help the seeds of faith planted in our souls to grow and to create an insatiable hunger for Your Word. Open our eyes and ears to opportunities of service and give us spirit of generousity in regard to our time and talents. Fill us with new ideas and creative ways to serve the community around us as we spread Your Gospel of Hope throughout the land. All this and whatever else you know we need, please grant it to us in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our Savior, and our King! Amen Mission Goal Outreach Report November 2017 Page 1

GRANT HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH Operation Barnabas for Comfort Dog Congregations; Lutheran Church Missouri Synod; St. Louis MO $2,000 Operation Barnabas provides encouragement and thanksgiving centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to military members and their families. We have developed and are refining materials to educate professional church workers in providing care to those soldiers struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog congregations are prime candidates to become Operation Barnabas Congregations. The comfort dogs calm individuals, facilitate conversation, work with special needs individuals, veterans, and the elderly, and are used in counseling situations. This grant will allow the LCMS Armed Forces to bring Comfort Dog congregations training to allow them to expand their reach to military families. 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 (ESV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
