Lesson 5: The Transfiguration Text: Matthew 17:1 9 Date Used: Key Point: At the transfiguration, Jesus glory was unveiled before the disciples. Today, His glory is unveiled for us in the Word, in the water of Baptism, and in the bread and wine of His Holy Supper. In heaven, we shall see Him in all His glory! Lesson 7: The Good Samaritan Text: Luke 10:25 37 Date Used: Key Point: God calls us to act in love toward all people, even our enemies, but we often pass by on the other side, ignoring our neighbor in need. Jesus is the Good Samaritan to us, healing us from sin and restoring us to eternal life. Law/Gospel: God s command to love my neighbor is a command to be perfectly compassionate to everyone I meet. Though I fall short, Jesus is the Good Samaritan, who binds up my brokenness, forgives my sin, and restores me to eternal life.
