Scripture Reading: Matthew 22: 37-40 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

For more information contact Bert Miller at bertm@gumchurch.com For more than 75 years, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), has been coming to the aid of families affected by tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons and other natural and man-made disasters around the world. As Hurricane Harvey approached the U.S. coastal states of Texas and Louisiana, UMCOR activated a network of partners to be ready to respond. As a church body, we encourage our members and community to pray for those impacted and those responding to the residents of Texas and Louisiana. We also realize the desire of an empathetic body of believers to do more. Although a part of our church's contributions directly supports UMCOR, if you would like to donate, there are several ways: 1. Text UMCOR and a dollar amount (UMCOR 50) to 30131 and follow the prompts. 100% of all donations goes directly to Hurricane Harvey relief. 2. You can donate using the kiosk in our lobby. 3. Or, you may write a check (made payable to GUMC) and note "UMCOR" in the memo section on your check.
