Visit our sign up genius today! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054cafaf2fa5f85-sunday SCRIPTURE FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8th Sermon Scripture: Hebrews 10: 19-25 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Scripture Reading: Matthew 22: 37-40 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

For more information contact Bert Miller at bertm@gumchurch.com For more than 75 years, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), has been coming to the aid of families affected by tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons and other natural and man-made disasters around the world. As Hurricane Harvey approached the U.S. coastal states of Texas and Louisiana, UMCOR activated a network of partners to be ready to respond. As a church body, we encourage our members and community to pray for those impacted and those responding to the residents of Texas and Louisiana. We also realize the desire of an empathetic body of believers to do more. Although a part of our church's contributions directly supports UMCOR, if you would like to donate, there are several ways: 1. Text UMCOR and a dollar amount (UMCOR 50) to 30131 and follow the prompts. 100% of all donations goes directly to Hurricane Harvey relief. 2. You can donate using the kiosk in our lobby. 3. Or, you may write a check (made payable to GUMC) and note "UMCOR" in the memo section on your check. PASTOR LED BIBLE STUDY Join Pastors John, Sean & Benson as they lead a new Bible study: "How To Lead People To God." The study meets Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.
