Volunteer Opportunities To join a volunteer team, you can contact the office, visit the Connect Corner, or sign up on the website. Administration A little bit of free time can go a long way! We need help around the office answering the phone and with small projects. Decorating Each season, we have different things to decorate for. Come make the church beautiful! *High School* High School is tough! Being a mentor for a High School student can help ease their stress and build their faith. *Nursery* Do you love the cuteness and spunkiness of kids? We have paid nursery attendant positions open for you to take care of our little ones. Building & Grounds Help keep our church in excellent shape mowing, gardening, snow removal, painting, and more event set up teams. Faithful Servants Join the team that makes worship run smoothly and sets a wide welcome for all. Ushers, greeters, lectors, communion assistants, etc. Hospitality We cannot have church without coffee and cookies! Help prepare Sunday treats or food for other events. Prayer It s the language of faith if you want to bless others and hold up our collective concerns and celebrations to God, this is your team! * Background Check Required* *Children* We get the chance to help form the faith of the next generation. Join the Children s Team to partner with parents in faith development. Funerals They happen and food often follows. Join the Funeral Team to help soothe the sorrow and comfort friends and families. *Middle School* Middle School can be awkward...being a mentor for these kids can help build their confidence and faith in the Lord. Sound/Video Need a creative outlet? Or do you have an ear for music? Sound and Video volunteers spend their time in the sound booth amplifying the worship experience. Community Outreach Spreading God s Word is one of our jobs as a Disciple of Christ. Join this team for weekend mission projects, community events, and other outreach projects. Generosity It s fun to give generously! Join the Generosity Team and encourage people to employ their time, talent, and treasure in the most impactful way. Music Interested in using your music skills to serve? The worship teams are looking for new talent to help lead people into worship. You ve Got Skills Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, video editing, etc. If you have skills you want to share please let us know! We always have special projects that need to be finished. Life Groups People come to church for many reasons, but they stay for one: RELATIONSHIPS! Life Groups meet twice a month for food, worship, prayer, and sharing life. Our little ones are where it all starts...we keep them nourished and educated about the love of Jesus and what it means to be His hands and feet. Children & Family Aye mateys! Calling all buccaneers for a week of jolly-good, swash buckling fun learning about how Jesus rescues us! Each night of VBS is chocked full of action large group worship, Bible stories, crafts, games, snacks and so much more. It s not for the lily-livered, but will surely be a good time. Crew leaders are called to lead and mentor a group of 6-8 kids age 3 through 5th grade each night of VBS. Teen crew leaders need to commit to attending the entire week of VBS (from 6:15 8:30 pm) as well as a training on Sunday, August 5th. Whether you are an old salt (experienced VBS volunteer) or an inexperienced scallywag (never have volunteered for VBS), we could use you on the crew. Even if it s just for 1 night. If you are a teen, you need to have completed 9th grade to volunteer for these positions. Each one of our classrooms is filled with happy smiling kinds, teacher assistants, and teachers. Our volunteers are what make Pathfinders such a success every year. However, it does take a lot of volunteers to make each Sunday happen. Youth Our Youth continue to meet during the summer on Wednesday nights for fun and fellowship Summer Youth Nights ~ June August Meeting from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Working with the Youth at Resurrection is a rewarding experience that will stay with you long after you ve volunteered your time. We need adult volunteers for the following things: Summer Wednesday Nights: Adults can volunteer for any Wednesday night throughout the summer and chaperone for offsite events. Cross Training Small Group Leader: We are always looking for small group leaders to lead a small group of students throughout the school year. These small group leaders are partnered up and have the ability to form lasting relationships with these students. Jesus set an example for us in how to live a life full of love, devotion, strength, and purpose. Adult Spiritual Growth Just like an athlete with a goal to win a race, we need training and exercise to become more like Jesus. Faith Journey is designed to help you with your training. Community Outreach At Resurrection, we believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus. We equip our people with the right skills and resources to accomplish service from local to global communities. Family Feast 3rd Sunday of each month 4:30 PM 6:30 PM Located in RLC s Gathering Place Interested in volunteering? Contact Lisette at jlhiltner92@gmail.com. Join us for a FREE community meal for the whole family each month! Each month is a different meal and some months show a movie after the meal. Community Garden 2018 Grow your own veggies and flowers at RLC! Whether you live in a house with no sun in the yard, an apartment, townhome, or just don t want to ruin the grass for your dog to run on, we have a plot for you! Food Shelf Resurrection volunteers help the Monticello Help Center each month by cleaning and stocking shelves on the third Thursday. Contact Deanna at dshutt8927@gmail.com if you d like to help out. Nursing Home Activity Night Join Michelle the second Thursday of each month as her group heads over to CentraCare Long Term Care Center for their monthly nursing home activity night. Food SHARE Come and volunteer the first Thursday of each month at the Monticello High School distributing food. This event is ran by Janine from A Glorious Church. You can sign up to volunteer by emailing her at agloriouschurch@tds.net. Spread the Love Local Food Distribution Spread the Love is a neighborhood outreach program that gives away groceries every other Wednesday the months of June, July, and August. We reach local Life Changers Local Mission Trip We understand serving on a mission team can mean unwanted traveling this is why we bring a local Monticello mission team opportunity to you! This mission team completes service projects, has food and fellowship, worships, and spread Jesus light through the local community. Come and join us the third weekend of August! Prayer Prayer precedes everything. We constantly call on the Holy Spirit to guide purposeful direction, provide emotional and physical healing, and soak us with unconditional love. We are prayer-dependent people. Prayer Chain The power of prayer grows the more we have people praying. Send your prayer requests to us and we will administer them to a large group of people willing and ready to pray for you. You can also join our prayer chain at any time, just email rlc@resurrection-mn.com. Weekday Morning Prayer Praying before work can make your day less stressful. Crisis Prayer Emergencies happen that is why we have a team ready and waiting to pray for you. If interested in praying for emergencies, please contact Barb at leebarb@windstream.net. Sunday Morning Prayer Every Sunday, we have a team ready to pray with you privately after Worship. We are always looking for people to pray as well. Nursery care and a meal are provided during the class New Members At Resurrection, we allow all people, whether they are visitors, members, or friends, to participate with us in our studies and events. When the time is right and the membership interest grows, we welcome all non members to take our new member informational class. Membership at Resurrection is a way of saying you re on board with us. It is a way to commit and accept yourself into a Christ driven life. We offer three new member classes each year. Each class is followed by a Receiving Sunday where you will be Received, as an active voting member, during Worship.
