Literacy Task 2 : Sentences (30 mins) Sentences are made up of a group of words which make sense when you read them. Sentences ALWAYS begin with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Copy out the sentences below with a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Look at the example below: the ship hit the black rocks in the storm The ship hit the black rocks in the storm. 1) the pirate found the treasure... 2) the shipwreck was at the bottom of the sea... 3) he saw a message in a bottle... 4) two survivors lit a fire to try to get help...

In these 3 sentences the capital letters and full stops have been missed out. Copy out these sentences with 3 capital letters and 3 full stops in the correct places so that they make sense. 5) tony and chris set out in their boat for a little island suddenly a strong wind sprang up waves carried the boat past the island and out to the open sea.... For each group of words write an interesting sentence which makes sense when read. Remember your capital letter and full stop.
