Beyond the initial introduction and initiation of our relationship with God through repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, it is necessary to continue and strengthen the relationship as we grow in God. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Luke 21:34 Taking heed will require adjustment and changes within our lives as the word of God highlights things that are in error. These adjustment are similar to the cropping that a photographer does when perfecting a picture for final publishing. Each of the letters in the word crop represents a step in the four-stage process of eliminating the undesirable things in your life that adversely affect your relationship with God: Confession, Repentance, Obedience, and Praise. Confession: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Confession is a through acknowledge of wrongdoing. In order to truly confess our sins (our past wrong doings) we must understand the destructiveness of sin. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 In order to receive the gift of God eternal life, a person must have the understanding and come to a decision point, that his past behaviors, will not lead him to his desired inheritance the kingdom of God. Repentance: With understanding, the decision to turn from the past behaviors and toward those reflecting God s commandments is called repentance. It is essential to living a life that is please to God. The decision to turn towards God must be a permanent decision. Genuine repentance is a change in conduct. You turn on your flesh and strive for holiness. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Philippians 3:13-15 As God reveals our condition, through His word, we are empowered through the Holy Ghost dwelling within us to make any and all necessary changes. Obedience: While we have the power to change within us, we must let the word control us. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: Isaiah 1:19 We must obey God s directions, if we are to arrive at our intended heavenly destination. Praise: As we obediently comply to the word, we experience freedom, and praise becomes automatic. An Unction From the Holy One Our appreciation and love for God deepens as we are perfected through his word. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Psalm 103:1-4 Seeds for the Heart The Seed is the Word of God. Luke 8:11 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies and thy right hand shall save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands Psalms There are many that claim the Holy Spirit and gather in religious edifices regularly where they say they serve God. The bible however, tells us to make your election and calling sure. (2 Peter 1:10) This is an ever more pressing command as we are getting closer to the rapture of the church. We do not want to miss the opportunity given to the gentiles in this dispensation of grace. For once that door is shut, those left behind will be hopeless. Lord, Lord open unto us departfrom me I know you not. But ye have an unc- tion from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because you know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever 138: 7-8 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
Page 4 The Apostolic Herald An Unction From the Holy One - Cont d Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1John 2:20 23 An Unction, is an anointing an urgent smearing of the Holy ghost. The anointing of the Holy Ghost is the power of God s Spirit abiding within human vessels who have been made holy in character and principles through obedience to His word. There are many that claim to have the Holy Ghost however, there was never been a change in their life. They continue to practice sin which caters to the flesh. An individual who continues to practice sin is carnal, fleshly that person doe not have the Holy Ghost. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2 In order for the Spirit of God to dwell in an individual, they must be dead to sin. They must have made a decision to quit their former life as a slave to sin. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:3-4 There must be a death to the old way of life as only dead people are to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins. The forgiveness of all past wrongdoing. Then and only then, can an individual be raised from baptism to walk in a newness of life. A newness of life because the Holy Ghost can come and dwell in the individual because the blood that Jesus shed has been applied to their life through baptism making the individual at one with God because their sins have been forgiven. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: Leviticus 17:11 When an individual receives the gift of the Holy Ghost, the initial evidence of that infilling is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. That individualhas been quickened made alive spiritually as the Holy Spirit now dwells within that individual. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh

Ephesians 2:1-3 There is a change in the life behavior of anyone that has been filled with the genuine Holy Ghost. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 All things are new, there is a behavior that accompanies that new life it is holiness. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:13-16 To receive eternal everlasting life with God an individual must meet the requirements of the Holy God. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 It is imperative that every individual claiming the Holy Ghost is certain that they have the biblical evidence of that salvation in their life. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6 Not serve sin there must be a change in the master and control of an individual s life. The flesh cannot be in control, because it will carry you to hell. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21 The flesh is carnal and anyone that is a slave to the flesh cannot please God. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:5-8 Anyone that cannot cease from practicing the lusts of the flesh, does not have the Spirit of God dwelling in them. As such, they cannot be granted eternal life with God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:9 Those that a fleshly in their behavior will hear depart from me, I never knew you. (Matthew 7:22 24). There is a difference, those that are in Christ through repentance, baptism in Jesus Name, and Holy Ghost filled. They have been freed from the law of sin which is death (Romans 6:23) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 Speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance is the initial sign of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Tongues are plural, it is a spirit language that does not come from an individual s vocal chords - the scripture says as the Spirit gives the utterance. That infilling is accompanied by the power and anointing of God to live a life in obedience to his word. Many speak in tongue which is of the devil. There is not power of change in life behavior with this tongue. The infilling of the genuine Holy Ghost rises the individual to walk a new life empowered by the Spirit of God living within. A witness that God and His word is alive and working for the world to see. But he shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 Whose witness does your life represent?
