Dear Peace Works Coordinators, Please find attached some poetry from 5th grade students from the American International School of Bucharest. We are delighted to be part of your project and wish you every success with it. Regards Jon Brian 5th Grade Teacher I Watch The News Everyday By Stan Stanchev I watch the news everyday To see if there is peace. I heard that two million People had died today. One million yesterday. Two million on Wednesday. One hundred thousand on Thursday. And peace would appear on Saturday. I woke up and could not stop Dreaming of nice news. Why don t nice dreams Transform into facts? If peace would fly through our lives, Instead of plane accidents and wars, Our dreams would not be ruined. I heard the news on Sunday. World Peace had broken out.
It s Just a Dream By Marilu Lucescu It s love and joy, Not hate and worry. There s no more loss, No more dieing or killing. You dream while still at war, And suddenly your wish comes true! You re home again With family and friends But then you wake It s time to go! Where? You wonder. But of course, Back to the battlefield again! It s Peace Again By Marilu Lucescu When bees are buzzing in the tree, When children smile with playful glee, When flowers, trees wait for the sun, When you know you can have fun, When tears and grief no more abound, When all you hear are happy sounds, It s peace again, you must be proud, And you can shout it out loud!
Time and Time Again By Marilu Lucescu Time and time again, People screaming out in pain. People laying dead. Others begging for bread. You cannot run, you cannot hide. All you can do is fight with pride, And hope that war will end, And peace settle upon this land. Time and time again PEACE IS THE BEST By Miguel Jimenez Peace is best. War is worse. Why start war If it s the worse? Dieing in hospitals, Needing food. Peace is best, War is worse.
PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE By STANISLAS GEORGE STANTCHEV I call out every night PEACE! But the next day DEATH!! Before I went to sleep this night My dad called me and said My uncle DIED at the beginning of World War 2. I cry, and cry, and ask, Why not PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE This sentence is an opinion But it is true Why can t they make life better? By making Peace PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE THE BULLET COMES By Miguel Jimenez The bullet is here, Like a spear. I don t want to die, I don t want to fight, I only want peace, And freedom. War is bad Why do we start? The bullet is here, Like a spear.
WAR? WHY NOT PEACE?? By Obrad Grkovic Destroying, Disaster, And after? Nothing Nothing at all But empty land And People dying, Children crying, Guns and bombs. Nothing after that, Except soil. Men are hiding, Women are running, Never enough, Of anything. Caves are bursting, Oceans are drying, No one wins, Nothing is left, NOT EVEN HOPE!
For Peace? By Andrei Chereces I was running, with my gun In my blood soaked hands. I was tired, my heart was As cold as an ice-berg. I was hurt, I was alone. All my fellow soldiers Did their jobs, But they didn't make it. I knew that we had won. But we didn't win for war, We won for peace. It was the thing that helped us All along the way. I threw my weapon Into the foggy, white sky. And then fell to the ground. I knew that I was Not going to make it. The letter told my mother I had died for peace. Heaven on Earth By Andrei Chereces Heaven is right next to us. It is quiet, not conflict. It is creation, not destruction. It is life not death. Green hills, not burned. It is beautiful, not ugly. It is God, not the devil. Heaven is right next to us. Heaven is Peace.
Peace Not War 1 By Andrei Chereches Helping people, Not standing still. Love, not hate. Play, not fight. Help, not kill. Live, not die. Make peace, not war. Peace Not War 2 By Andrei Chereches People cry, Because their families die. We should not cry, We should be happy. If they choose war, They get war. But war doesn't solve anything, Because people die. Peace makes people happy. Peace Not War 3 By Andrei Chereches People die, families cry. Churches burn down, People pray, children play. But they think its fun That people go to war. But people die They don't live any longer. And that s not funny at all. Those soldiers fought For peace, not war. Peace makes people happy.
What a Loss of Everything By Diane Marpozan Think about the relationship Between other people. If we keep on like this, What will happen to everything? People, homes, places, land, Will all be destroyed Maybe not on the outside, But in the inside they will be hurt. We should all be together, Being happy for what we have. Not fighting for it. What if we didn t have anything to give? And nothing to take? We keep on doing and doing Things that are horrible. What if once, We weren t able to fight anymore? Would we think about things differently? What if it is too late, To change anything? What a loss of everything.
What Have We Done By Diane Marpozan Everything is so different from before, Fire, blood, gunshots, And people crying for help Everywhere! Cries of fright! Sounding clearly everywhere. People suffering, Because of other people s meanness. This lasts for Days, Weeks, months, and even years! No one knowing When it will end. Then after so much damage People start to think, What Have We Done?
Solutions For War By Brittany Powers A war to end all wars, That s what we were told, But one white lie Destroyed many fold. War is a hateful thing, Most start with religion. But religions are different, Remember to respect Different faces and colors, Please don t neglect! So what shall we do? I ll tell you what, Just stop the fighting And listen to my plot. If you confront others, About war and attack, Be prepared to defend, But please don t fight back! Do not fight, Just stand ready, If war breaks out, Just stand steady. Remember to help Stop war, it is final. Destroy the battle, Give it denial.
There was a war, or was there? By Jonathan Dinh There was a war. We were beating them. Finally, it ended with them hitting the ground. They were begging for mercy. I can see I can see that violence is not the solution. All I see is men started killing, But with a miracle, Peace appeared. It revived the damages, It revived the soldiers, But most of all, It revived their soul. It was defending their souls, The violence has disappeared. No more war started, But light was shining in my eyes, I woke up and saw the sun rising. Too bad It was only a dream.
Man or Myth? By Octavian Mitu Ancient man invented myths To explain things They did not know. But when those things Were war and fighting, They blamed the myth, Never the man. War and Conflict By Olivia Zeolla War is pain and terror to all, Doing all it can to make us fall. Frightful it is, There is nothing we can do, We wonder when it will all be through. There is no place for us to run and hide, Except for in our houses away inside. Fear is clear, When conflict is near. Peace should be and war should not, War should be left alone to rot. Happiness is wished to come, To all the places war was from. How or why did war begin, When it is such a frightful sin?
Peace is what we need, It will bring faith, love and harmony, Peace is a dream, that will never die, It will always want to fly, Above our heads, And under our feet, And our expectations, It will meet. PEACE! By Olivia Zeolla Peace brings faith, Peace brings love, Peace brings care, Peace brings harmony For everyone. A Heart Full Of Fury By Olivia Zeolla A heart full of fury, Is a dangerous thing. For peace and love, It will never bring. If people will kill, Our hearts will fill, With not peace or love, Or the things from above, But they will fill, With the urge to kill.
