O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1 PREVIOUS Message Summary: In Exodus 15, we saw Moses and Miriam sing a song of praise to God for His great power and deliverance. In Exodus 16, we saw how God provided sustenance for His children and we discovered what the manna truly represents. Moses cried out to the Lord about the people. What did he tell God (v. 4)? God told Moses to strike the rock for water. How did Moses know which particular rock to strike (v. 6)? 2 Exodus Chapter 17

PREPARE (continued) What does the apostle Paul say about the rock? (See 1 Corinthians 10:4.) Moses gave the place two different names. What did they mean (v. 7)? PRODUCE Read Psalm 107:4-9. PREPARE (continued) What caused the Amalekites to prevail during the battle with Israel (v. 11)? Moses understandably became tired of holding the rod. What assured Israel s victory (v. 12)? The Lord wanted Joshua to remember the defeat of the Amalekites. What did God say He would do to the Amalekites (v. 14)? PROTECT Meditate upon how God gave Joshua victory over the Amalekites and how He has the power to grant you victory over your spiritual adversaries. PROMOTE Write a post on your Facebook wall about God s ability to bring forth water from a rock or grant His children spiritual victory. 5 Exodus Chapter 17

PREPARE (continued) When did God fulfill this promise and through whom? (See 1 Samuel 30:1-31 and 1 Chronicles 4:43.)
