Small Groups are Coming! By now, hopefully you have signed up for a small group (the sign up sheets are in the atrium). The book, "The Purpose Driven Life" should be purchased, as the week of April 5 the gatherings begin! If you need help getting the book, let us know. Remember also that if you don't want to be in a permanent small group, you can still be part of the rotating Koinonia groups. Or you can do both! Enjoy the great ride small groups can be! Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting? 1 Corinthians 15:55 (NRSV) Council Highlights 1) Agreed to watch a challenging documentary for the church's future, "When God Left the Building." 2) Decided to look into the cost of monitors so the people leading worship from the altar can see what the congregation sees projected. 3) Confirmed June 15-19 as the Vacation Bible School dates. 4) Agreed on the distribution of the $6,800 in benevolence dollars that the congregation voted to distribute. World Hunger, Disaster Relief & Malaria // Special Concern This month, the Special Concern goes to three ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America: World Hunger, Disaster Relief and the Treatment of Malaria. All 3 of these are important to support, because most of us have no idea what being on the receiving end of these disasters is like. Hunger continues to abound, disasters occur in spite of our best efforts, and malaria plagues the life of so many and can be cured, treated and prevented for very little cost. Please step up to help our neighbors in need and give generously to this cause. You can make your check out to Zion and in the memo line put "April Special Concern." Thank you! The next WELCA Bible Study has been moved to Thursday, April 9 at 9am in the Sewing Room. Page 3
