Committed to His Will, His Way, and His Word January 28, 2018 18 The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. Luke 4:18-19 (NKJV) It is the vision of Mount Olive to be a church that is intentional in its efforts to identify and meet the needs of broken, hurt and oppressed people in the greater Glen Allen area through the message and ministry of Jesus Christ. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. NEXT WEEK S LESSON: February 4, 2018 Faith Without Works is Dead James 2:14-26 People know that talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. How are we to live in this regard? During this year of transition, following Jesus is a requirement. The requirement calls for us to: Main Point: 1) Just do it. 2) Keep following. 3) Tell the Lord thank you. For the full message order a CD or DVD of the service from the Media Ministry. CDs $5.00; Double CDs $7.00; DVDs $10.00 3. Believe in Jesus. God sent His only Son to die so that He could pay for all our sins. Put your faith in Him and believe in His power to save you. The Bible says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). 4. Receive His salvation. God has given us a great gift in His Son, but we must receive His gift. Thank Him for loving and forgiving you, and ask Him to live in your heart. His promise to us is clear: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). 5. Confess your faith. The Bible assures us: If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom. 10:9). You have been born again and are now part of God s family. Tell some one else what Jesus has done in your life! Heavenly Father, I now understand my need to have my sins forgiven. I also realize that only Jesus because of His sacrifice on the cross can forgive my sin. I put my faith and trust in Jesus today. Please forgive me and become the Lord of my life. NATIONAL MEN S CONFERENCE APRIL 13-14, 2018
7 1. Age Targeted Teaching: Where else can your kids get Biblical instruction that's focused toward their developmental abilities? 2. Friends: In Sunday School, your child will build positive friendships with their peers by discovering God's Word together. 3. It's Fun: Sunday School is not Disney Land, but our teachers do work hard to teach the Bible in ways that are relevant and fun for kids. 4. Spiritual Mentors: A dedicated teacher can be a Christian role model who supports you and helps inspire the faith of your child. 5. Systematic Bible Learning: Our curriculum is designed to give a broad foundation, so children will understand how all the parts of Scripture point to Christ. 6. Praying Teachers: Our teachers consistently pray for your child's faith to grow. Coming to Sunday School gives another occasion for God to answer those requests. 7. Big Reward For a Small Investment: If you're already coming to church, just come a little earlier or stay a little later. 8. Send the Right Message: Making Sunday School a priority shows your kids that God's Word really does matter. 9. Adult Bible Fellowship: While the children enjoy their class, you can fellowship with other adults in your own Bible study group. 10. Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV): Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
