CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: All: SONGS OF PRAISE Order of Worship Rise up and sing, O people of God, for the day of your salvation has come Christ has broken the prison bars of death, hell, and sin. In weakness He came, as a sinless servant He lived among you; yet for all His love He was slain by the wickedness of men. Willingly He submitted Himself to death, that He might be pierced for your transgressions, and crushed for your iniquities. Worthy are You, O Lamb of God, for with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever. Amen. Arise, My Soul, Arise TEXT: Charles Wesley,1742 MUSIC: Kevin Twitt, 1996 Arise, my soul, arise, shake off your guilty fears; The bleeding Sacrifice in my behalf appears; Before the Throne my Surety stands, before the throne my Surety stands, My name is written on His hands. Arise, arise, arise, arise, my soul arise! Arise, arise, arise, arise, my soul arise! Shake off your guilty fear and rise. He ever lives above, for me to intercede, His all-redeeming love, His precious blood to plead; His blood atoned for every race; His blood atoned for every race, And sprinkles now the throne of grace. Five bleeding wounds He bears, Received on Calvary; They pour effectual prayers, they strongly plead for me; Forgive him, oh, forgive, they cry, Forgive him, oh, forgive, they cry, Nor let that ransomed sinner die! I pour it out as a song to my King, Shaping the rivers into words. What grace pours from your lips, The sound calls the midnight to morning; The melody turns my winter into spring, I echo it now in my worship. Ten thousand strong, You re the fairest of all, Fairest in heaven and earth. Of the children of men You re the fairest of them, Fairest in heaven and earth. Your heart burst at the seams, Flowing with blood and with water. A song of love pouring out from the tree singing, For the joy set before me. You ransomed your bride On the day that you died, Ascended to heaven in glory. She stands clothed in white With her head lifted high singing, Come and return in Your glory. You ransomed your bride On the day that you died, Ascended to heaven in glory. We stand clothed in white With our voice lifted high singing, Come and return in Your glory. SCRIPTURE READING Ephesians 3:14-21 CONFESSION OF SIN Our hearts sing with joy, O Father, because we have been called the children of God. By Your mercy we have been adopted into Your family and by Your Spirit we may call You Abba Father. But we have abused the privilege of being your sons and daughters by sinning against You every day in word, in thought, and in deed. We have worshipped gods created in our vain imaginations; we have coveted when we should be giving; we have served ourselves when we should be serving others. Hear our humble confession, O Lord, and grant us new forgiveness so that we may give You new obedience. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON Sermon Notes SONG OF ASSURANCE King Of Love WORDS & MUSIC: Steven Curtin Chapman, 2016 With the hands that formed the world you washed our feet. Kneeling down, you laid aside your majesty And you said for us to go and do the same. So we serve for the glory of our King. You left heaven s throne to rescue what was lost, Stretching out Your mighty arms to bear the cross. Then you rolled away the stone, the victory won, And you said, go and tell the world what love has done. King of love, let your Kingdom come Reign in us, your daughters and your sons. Fill us up, till we overflow With your love until the whole world knows You are the King of Love. Give us hearts that long to see your justice done; Let the river of Your mercy flow through us; Let compassion be the loudest song we sing Till the day when every tongue declares you King. INTERCESSORY PRAYER OFFERING Please place visitor cards in the offering plate OFFERTORY SCRIPTURE READING John 19:16-27 SERMON COMMUNION SONG The Word Of Family In Christ Alone TEXT & MUSIC: Townend/Getty, 2002 In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.

Pray for our Missionaries Reid and Kelli Jones serve on the campus of the University of Alabama, Huntsville with Reformed University Fellowship. The Jones have two girls, Lucy and Jordan. For spring break the Jones took their UAH students on a mission trip. March 14, 2017 We have enjoyed a remarkable and memorable week so far in West Montgomery with a fantastic group of ministries, including Common Ground Montgomery (founded by one of my old campus ministers) and New Walk of Life Church. Our group of 15 students and staff have enjoyed learning about the Civil Rights Movement through various tours and seminars, and we ve witnessed gospel-driven racial-reconciliation lived out in this neighborhood. Our students have served by providing physical labor in a local resource center for needy families in the neighborhood, and we ve spent our afternoons serving with the CGM kids in their after-school play and mentor programs. Our students are uniquely gifted to do both of those things so very well! I ll plan to send another email in the coming days to attempt to get across all that we are learning together this week. We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of these ministries for a few more days! We appreciate your prayers for our students, for Common Ground, and for New Walk of Life Church this week. COMMUNION CLOSING SONG In Christ alone! Who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied, For every sin on Him was laid. Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground, His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin s curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me; From life s first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny; No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I ll stand. My Raptured Soul WORDS: John Berridge, 1716-1793 MUSIC: Clint Wells, 2005 If Jesus kindly say, And with a whispering word, Arise my love and come away, I run to meet my Lord. My soul is in my ears; My heart is all on flame; My eyes are sweetly drowned in tears, And melted is my frame. My raptured soul will rise up, And give a cheerful spring, And dart through all the lofty skies, To visit Zion s King, To visit Zion s King. He meets me with a kiss, And with a smiling face; I taste the dear, enchanting bliss, And wonder at his grace. A soft and tender sigh, Now heaves my hollowed breast; I long to lay me down and die, And find eternal rest. *BENEDICTION
