MAY MISSION MEAL-NOTE DATE CHANGE Sunday, May 20 at 12 pm in the Outreach Building This month s Mission Meal will be a week later than usual because of the Mother s Day holiday and the Guatemala mission team will prepare a delicious taco bar with all the fixins on Sunday, May 20. Your donations will go to help fund the expenses of our missionaries going to Guatemala this fall. PRAYING FROM THE PEWS Lord, teach me the need for praying for Your church. Not just the shallow, trite mumblings of bless my church, but rather the urgent longing to see Your Bride reflect the glory of You. Cause me to be desperate to intercede on her behalf. Open my eyes to the beauty of this gift of faith family and train my heart to be ever thankful to be a part of what You are doing here on earth.* 1Cor 1:10 I pray that we all speak the same thing, with no divisions among us, Phil 1:27 standing fast in one spirit, striving together for the faith. Heb 13:9 That we re not carried about with various and strange doctrines, 2Tim 2:15 But we study, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jude 1:16 That we re not murmurers, complainers, walking after our own lusts, 1Tim 6:18 but are rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share. Eph 4:16 I pray that the whole body be knit and joined together, and that every part does its share causing growth to the body. 1Pet 4:10 As each one has received a gift, let him minister it, Phil 2:4 looking out for the interests of others. 1Pet 1:22 Let us all fervently love one another with a pure heart, 2Jm 1:8 so that we do not lose the things we have worked for. 1Pet 4:7 Let us become serious and watchful in our prayers, Eph 6:11 Putting on the whole armor of God that we may stand against the devil. Acts 4:29 That we will speak forth Your Word with great boldness Acts 4:30 and that You will stretch forth Your hand to heal, that signs and wonders may be done in the name of Your Son Jesus.** *Prayers from the Pews by Teri Lynne Underwood; **prayinginvictory.com UNITED METHODIST MEN S BREAKFAST Sunday, May 20 at 8:00 am Please plan on joining us for fellowship and a great breakfast at 8:00 am. RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE Monday, March 26 9:30 am to 2 pm Come join us in saving lives by giving blood during the cold winter months when there is a greater need. Call Faye Reeves, 336-372-8469, for an appointment or just walk in. APRIL FELLOWSHIP SUPPER Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 pm Come out and enjoy a great meal and fellowship! Bring a dish to share, such as a casserole, salad, or dessert and invite someone new to come with you! NURSERY WORKER An additional nursery worker is needed for Hope Fellowship on Sunday evenings. Please contact Vickie Sears or the Church Office if interested. Today s Anthem In Christ Alone Words and Music by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song. This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless Babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save. Til on that cross, as Jesus died, the Wrath of God was satisfied; for every sin on Him was laid. Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, light of the world in darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day. Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine brought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death this is the power of Christ in me. From life s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny, no power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand. Til He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I stand.
