At this time, I invite you to share the peace of hrist with one another, to greet those around you, and to introduce yourselves to those you've not met. The peace of the Lord be with you always. NOTES ON THE SERVIE TEMPLE TALK: Grace Groups ALL TO WORSHIP BRIEF ORDER OF ONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS P If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Let us confess our sin to God who is faithful and just and who has promised to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. kneel/stand silence for reflection and self-examination. P Most merciful God, We confess to you that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not trusted you with our whole heart; we have not loved one another in deed and in truth. In your compassion forgive our sin and so uphold us by your Spirit that we may live and serve you in newness of life through Jesus hrist our light and our truth. Amen. P With joy, I proclaim to you that Almighty God, rich in mercy, abundant in love, forgives you all your sin and grants you newness of life in Jesus hrist. Thanks be to God! 1

GATHERING SONG: Oh, for a Thousand Tongues to Sing (ELW 886) 1 Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise, the glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace! 2 My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim, to spread through all the earth abroad the honors of your name. 3 The name of Jesus charms our fears and bids our sorrows cease, sings music in the sinner's ears, brings life and health and peace. 4 He speaks, and list'ning to his voice, new life the dead receive; the mournful, broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe. 5 Look unto him, your Savior own, O fallen human race! Look and be saved through faith alone, be justified by grace! 6 To God all glory, praise, and love be now and ever giv'n by saints below and saints above, the church in earth and heav'n. GREETING P The grace of our Lord Jesus hrist, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. KYRIE worship booklet page 3 P In Peace, in peace, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy. hrist, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. P For the Reign of God, and for peace throughout the world, for the unity of all, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy. hrist, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. 2

P P For your people here, who have come to give you praise, for the strength to live your Word, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy. hrist, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Help, save, and defend us, O God. Amen. NOW THE FEAST WORSHIP booklet page 4-5 Refrain Now the feast and celebration, all of creation sings for joy to the God of life and love and freedom; praise and glory forevermore! 1 Now is the feast of the Lamb once slain, whose blood has freed and united us to be one great people of God. Refrain 2 Power and riches, wisdom and might, all honor and glory to hrist forever. Refrain 3 For God has come to dwell with us, to make us people of God; to make all things new. Refrain P The grace of our Lord Jesus hrist, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. PRAYER OF THE DAY P Let us pray. God of all peoples, your arms reach out to embrace all those who call upon you. Teach us as disciples of your Son to love the world with compassion and constancy, that your name may be known throughout the earth, through Jesus hrist, our Savior and Lord. Amen. SPEIAL MUSI: Beth Borstad FIRST READING: Isaiah 56:1, 6 8 L A reading from Isaiah. Thus says the LORD: 3

Maintain justice, and do what is right, for soon my salvation will come, and my deliverance be revealed. 6 And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, and to be his servants, all who keep the sabbath, and do not profane it, and hold fast my covenant 7 these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. 8 Thus says the Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, I will gather others to them besides those already gathered. L The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. SEOND READING: Romans 11:1 2a, 29 32 L A reading from Romans. I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 Just as you were once disobedient to God but have now received mercy because of their disobedience, 31 so they have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now receive mercy. 32 For God has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may be merciful to all. L The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. GOSPEL VERSE (ALLELUIA) worship booklet page 6 Alleluia, Alleluia. Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia! GOSPEL: Matthew 15:[10 20] 21 28 P The holy gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. 4

10 Then he called the crowd to him and said to them, "Listen and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles." 12 Then the disciples approached and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?" 13 He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit." 15 But Peter said to him, "Explain this parable to us." 16 Then he said, "Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth enters the stomach, and goes out into the sewer? 18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this is what defiles. 19 For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile." 21 Jesus left that place and went away to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 Just then a anaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon." 23 But he did not answer her at all. And his disciples came and urged him, saying, "Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us." 24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." 26 He answered, "It is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." 27 She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." 28 Then Jesus answered her, "Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed instantly. P The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O hrist. SERMON: Pastor Paul Ziese All Are Welcome Isaiah 56:1, 6-8 HYMN OF THE DAY: All Are Welcome (ELW 641 vs. 1-3) 1 Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live, a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive. Built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace; here the love of hrist shall end divisions: Refrain All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place. 5

2 Let us build a house where prophets speak, and words are strong and true, where all God's children dare to seek to dream God's reign anew. Here the cross shall stand as witness and as symbol of God's grace; here as one we claim the faith of Jesus: Refrain 3 Let us build a house where love is found in water, wine and wheat: a banquet hall on holy ground where peace and justice meet. Here the love of God, through Jesus, is revealed in time and space; as we share in hrist the feast that frees us: Refrain INTRODUTION TO THE REED A With the whole church, let us confess our faith: APOSTLES REED I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus hrist, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. PRAYERS OF INTERESSION A Let us pray for the people of God in hrist Jesus, for the whole human family, and for all creation. A brief silence. A Lord, your house is a house of prayer for all peoples, all outcasts, and all who love your name. Reach into our hearts and focus our attention on this central mission of your gospel. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. 6

A A A A A P Embrace all of creation in your loving arms and show us a better way to care for your earth. We pray for healing, gentle rains. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. You ask us to maintain justice and do what is right, that all nations know peace. Uphold those international organizations striving to work together for the good of all. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Shine your face upon those in need of healing for bodies, minds, and spirits (especially). Strengthen our faith and fill us with hope as we humbly kneel before you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Open our hearts to the visitors among us, and to their gifts and questions. Fill them with your welcoming presence. Watch over those who are absent and bring them safely home. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. As you gather the faithful who have died into your eternal home, remind us of everything they have taught us in your name. Thank you for their presence among us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Gather all our prayers in your wide embrace, most gracious God, through your Son, Jesus hrist. Amen. PARISH NOTIES OFFERING AND ATTENDANE REGISTRATION OFFERTORY HYMN: As the Grains of Wheat Worship booklet page 8 Refrain As the grains of wheat once scattered on the hill were gathered into one to become our bread; so may all your people from all the ends of earth be gathered into one in you. 1 As this cup of blessing is shared within our midst, may we share the presence of your love. Refrain 7

2 Let this be a foretaste of all that is to come when all creation shares this feast with you. Refrain OFFERTORY PRAYER A Let us pray. Merciful God, everything in heaven and earth belongs to you. We joyfully release what you have entrusted to us. May these gifts be signs of our whole lives returned to you, dedicated to the healing and unity of all creation, through Jesus hrist. Amen. THE GREAT THANKSGIVING worship booklet page 9 P The Lord be with you. And also with you. P Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. PREFAE P It is our duty and delight that we should everywhere and always offer thanks and praise to you, O God, through Jesus hrist who calls us to follow his way of humble service and love, and so with the church on earth, all creation and the host of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: HOLY worship booklet page 10 Holy, holy, holy are you, God of power and might; Heaven and earth are filled with your glory. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is the One who comes in your name. Hosanna in the highest, hosanna in the highest! WORDS OF INSTITUTION P In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink saying: this cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. INTRODUTION TO THE LORD'S PRAYER P Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us. 8

LORD'S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. INVITATION TO OMMUNION P The gifts of God for the people of God. LAMB OF GOD worship booklet page 13 Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us, mercy on us, mercy on us. Lamb of God, you break the chains of hatred and fear: have mercy on us, mercy on us, mercy on us. Lamb of God, you are the way of justice and peace: have mercy on us, mercy on us, mercy on us. Lamb of God, you are the way of mercy and love: have mercy on us, mercy on us, mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: grant us peace, grant us peace, grant us peace. OMMUNION P The body of hrist, given for you. The blood of hrist, shed for you. Amen. OMMUNION HYMN: Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service (ELW 712) 1 Lord, whose love in humble service bore the weight of human need, who upon the cross, forsaken, worked your mercy's perfect deed: we, your servants, bring the worship not of voice alone, but heart; consecrating to your purpose ev'ry gift which you impart. 2 Still your children wander homeless; still the hungry cry for bread; still the captives long for freedom; still in grief we mourn our dead. 9

As you, Lord, in deep compassion healed the sick and freed the soul, by your Spirit send your power to our world to make it whole. 3 As we worship, grant us vision, till your love's revealing light in its height and depth and greatness dawns upon our quickened sight, making known the needs and burdens your compassion bids us bear, stirring us to ardent service, your abundant life to share. 4 alled by worship to your service, forth in your dear name we go, to the child, the youth, the aged, love in living deeds to show; hope and health, good will and comfort, counsel, aid and peace we give, that your servants, Lord, in freedom may your mercy know and live. OMMUNION HYMN: In hrist There Is No East or West (ELW 650) 1 In hrist there is no east or west, in him no south or north, but one community of love throughout the whole wide earth. 2 In hrist shall true hearts ev'rywhere their high communion find; his service is the golden cord close binding humankind. 3 Join hands, disciples of the faith, whate'er your race may be. All children of the living God are surely kin to me. 4 In hrist now meet both east and west, in him meet south and north; 10

all hristly souls are one in him throughout the whole wide earth. TABLE BLESSING P May the grace of our Lord Jesus hrist and the gifts of his body and blood strengthen, keep and unite us, now and forever. Amen.
