God Loves You! Sunday School Rally Day Today s Sunday School Rally Day service focuses on God s love and miracles. In the Gospel reading, God s love for the deaf and speech-impaired man is manifested in the miracle that restored his hearing and speech. God s love for each of us is manifested in the miracle of Christ s death and resurrection for us and for our salvation. Each week, as the family of God gathers around the means of grace, His Word and Sacraments, God performs miracles anew granting us forgiveness, life, and salvation. What we hear and see is testimony to God s eternal love for us. In Sunday School, God s deeds of old are taught to the children that they may hear and believe God s love for them in Christ Jesus. God Loves Me Dearly LSB 392 Stand L This is the day which the Lord has made; C let us rejoice and be glad in it. L From the rising of the sun to its setting, C the name of the Lord is to be praised. L Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere; C I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. L Make me to know Your ways, O Lord. C Teach me Your paths. L Sanctify us in Your truth. C Your Word is truth. L From the rising of the sun to its setting, C The name of the Lord is to be praised. C Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Old Testament Canticle Refrain: The Lord God is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.

With joy will you draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day: Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name, make know His deeds among the peoples, proclaim that His name is exalted. Refrain Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for job, O inhabitants of Zion for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. Refrain Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Refrain Readings from Holy Scripture Reading 4 Say to those who have an anxious heart, Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you. 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; 6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; 7 the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. Isaiah 35:4 7a Verbum Domini A This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God. Mark 7:31 37 31 Then [Jesus] returned from the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. 32 And they brought to Him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, and they begged Him to lay His hand on him. 33 And taking him aside from the crowd privately, He put His fingers into his ears, and after spitting touched his tongue. 34 And looking up to heaven, He sighed and said to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 35 And his

ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. 36 And Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it. 37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak. A This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God. Responsory L Forever, O Lord, Your Word is firmly set in the heavens. C Lord, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells. L Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it. C Lord, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells. L Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. C Lord, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells. Stand Catechism Ten Commandments C You shall have no other gods. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor s house. You shall not covet your neighbor s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. Creed C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life + everlasting. Amen. Lord s Prayer C Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Sit Children s Message Let Children Hear the Mighty Deeds LSB 867 Sermon Installation of Sunday School Teachers and Other Instructors In the Faith Offering

Stand Prayer L In peace let us pray to the Lord: L For the gift of divine peace and of pardon, with all our heart and with all our mind, let us pray to the Lord: L For the holy Christian Church, here and scattered throughout the world, and for the proclamation of the Gospel and the calling of all to faith, let us pray to the Lord: L For this nation, for our cities and communities, and for the common welfare of us all, let us pray to the Lord: L For seasonable weather and for the fruitfulness of the earth, let us pray to the Lord: L For those who labor, for those whose work is difficult or dangerous, and for all who travel, let us pray to the Lord: L For all those in need, for the hungry and homeless, for the widowed and orphaned, and for all those in prison, let us pray to the Lord: L For the sick and dying and for all those who care for them, let us pray to the Lord: L For... [additional bids for prayer may be inserted here]... let us pray to the Lord: L Finally, for these and for all our needs of body and soul, let us pray to the Lord: Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Collect of the Day L O Lord, let Your merciful ears be open to the prayers of Your humble servants and grant that what they ask may be in accord with Your gracious will; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. C Amen.

Collect for the Word L Blessed Lord, You have caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning. Grant that we may so hear them, read, mark, learn, and take them to heart that, by the patience and comfort of Your holy Word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. C Amen. Collect for Sunday School Teachers Lord Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, You have given the Church the command to bring the children to You that they may find hope in the promise of everlasting life with You. Therefore, help and support our pastors and leaders as they assist our parents in nurturing the baptismal faith of Your little lambs. You alone can preserve them in faith against all the evil influences of this world, yet You have given to us the task, the privilege, and the means to nurture the faith of all our children. You alone can create faith and hope and love in these children, yet You call men and women to teach Your holy Word. I thank and praise You for such grace and compassion. Bless the instruction offered in our Sunday School. May Your Word nourish and sustain all who hear it. Bring all teachers to realize not only the importance of their vocation but also that You promise to be with them and that they, too, are children of God redeemed with Your holy, precious blood. Give them the wisdom, understanding, and ability to proclaim to the children entrusted to their care the truths of Your Word that provides the certainty of the salvation You have won for them. May the lives of our teachers so agree with Your instruction that they may always be shining examples of Christian virtue among us. I ask You to hear my prayer for Your sake. Amen. Morning Prayer C I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.

New Testament Canticle Refrain: Christ has been raised from the dead! Alleluia. Alleluia. Blessing Christ out Passover Lamb has been sacrificed. Raised from the dead, He will never die again. Death has no more dominion over Him. Refrain Dying, Christ dies to sin, once for all. Living, He lives to God. Count yourselves as dead to sing and alive to God in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Refrain L Let us bless the Lord. C Thanks be to God. P The almighty and merciful Lord, the Father, the + Son, and the Holy Spirit, bless and preserve you. C Amen.
